  1. I have a new all time favorite. Kid wins his first match today after losing 2-4. Finally stops reaching back. we’re all happy and whatnot ”Sorry it took so long coach.. I was making sure he was tired”
  2. Please keep the thread going. I’m bored waiting on matches
  3. I’ve been subjected to Pat Minnows rants throughout my timelines. Something about transfers and eligibility and dad coach drama. Could @Husker_Duor someone not Minnow explain
  4. It’s exacerbated with the injury. Especially ACL and if you and @Gusthink my view of his wrestling is whack. So be it. I don’t have the personal experience or dog in the fight that LJB has. If he wins world titles, I’ll be like “go USA!! Yayy”. But until I see how he handles not having some “reason” that “explains” all his losses and bad matches. And until he consistently doesn’t look like he’s so tired that he just doesn’t want to wrestle after 3 minutes. my opinion won’t change. I have no dog in the fight
  5. And that changes my point how? Replace 10 points with a pin and there’s many athletes he looks similar to.
  6. When I wrestled on a torn ACL, my cardio did much much better with guys I was simply much better than.. not so much with people as good or better than me. His body language and jumping out to a lead and just holding on if he can’t close right away. Iowa fans tend to justify it in their athletes and decry other they think are doing it.. vehemently
  7. Not moving goalposts. I’ll add the caveat that it’s pretty easy to coast when your are levels better than someone. My bully boy wrestling refers to the athletes who can wrestle with him on his level when he’s healthy. Im not the only person, nor is LJB, the only person who thinks this about Lees wrestling. By all accounts, he’s a good dude, class act, and has helped the popularity of wrestling. But my opinion of the way he wrestles is what it is
  8. Eh, let’s just leave it at that. If Lee wrestled at another school and had the same cardio issues and body language.. would you look at him the same
  9. Did you actually watch those matches? When was Lee ever really in a position where you were worried he’d lose because the other guy actually threatened to put him in danger
  10. You are ignoring everything else I said. I said what I see and think. The “food” thing is only a small part of it. If I really wanted to start a turdstorm. I would ask people to realistically look at the “style” Lee wrestles and his “body language” and if he wasn’t a Hawkeye.. yeah I’ll leave it at that. Would people see if the same way..
  11. Where was the coach from or what area if you don’t mind me asking.
  12. I, maybe him, but I am for sure, are referring directly to matches and that every loss of his since his senior year can be blamed on things other than “that guy lined the hell up and beat me”
  13. Same for my kid. His dad has even come around to the same view I have. “Damn, I hope I’m wrong, but I’m probably not, bummer” im going to coach him like always either way
  14. That’s why even with healthy bionic knees I don’t see him beating grown men on the international stage literally wrestling for their next meal
  15. Bully as in if he can’t just run someone over or get a comfortable lead…. When the other dude is still right in it… He doesn’t seem to do as well. Being a gentleman or not has nothing to do with having a bully boy mentality that struggles with people still there after the initial rush..
  16. I think it’s at the forefront of my mind because I currently have an athlete that is one of the toughest kids in the state.. for 2-3 minutes. If he can’t bully the dude and run them over. He’ll lose outside a couple matches that prove the rule. It’s exactly like watching Lee wrestle. Even the way he’ll suddenly go hard to “prove” a point to a teammate then not do it in matches. Lee is good. I like him. Seems like a good kid. But on the mat he’s definitely a bully
  17. I actually think he’s more of a bully than bruiser. When guys don’t go away mentally and are still there, he starts struggle busing. Most bruisers of his caliber don’t stop when the other guy doesn’t wilt. He does though it might be pedantic quibbling in terms
  18. I think willie minds his Ps and Qs but he doesn’t care if everyone likes him like Flo
  19. We use quad pod as well. I’m kicking myself because I waited to install it and after I taught they were hitting it in matches the next day and our Percentage on bottom went up
  20. I don’t suffer from the tragedy of perfection but I’m much better lol
  21. I agree on most freestyle refs. Many of the folkstyle refs. Eh
  22. How many officials you think would keep their head? Realistically. I honestly only know a couple that would
