  1. I got so excited by the broader news that I totally missed that detail about 125. That is very surprising to me! He was not a small 133. I wondered what the heck happened to him last year. I thought he had two year of eligibility remaining.
  2. I wondered if he could follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Caleb Smith who became an AA after transfering from App State to Nebraska. But that would mean Antrell Taylor staying at 165 instead of going back down to 157 with Robb having graduated.
  3. Curious how the lineup shakes out for @ILLINIWrestlingBlog and his squad. Here's a guess from me 125: Ruzic 133: Byrd 141: Attasauov 149: Pucino 157: Webster 165: MiniBraun 174: Ruth 184: Connell 197: MegaBraun 285: Luffman
  4. Joel Jesuroga has entered the portal
  5. Couple more updates to Wrestlestat later this afternoon: 125: Max Elton, Buffalo 133: None 141: None 149: Tyler Kasak, Penn State 157: Wynton Denkins, Campbell 165: Jake Slotnick, Hofstra 174: Chris Moore, Illinois 184: None 197: None 285: None
  6. My cousin went to Drexel Hill Community College for two years, getting a 4.0 while he was there and paying minimal tuition and living at home. He then transferred to Temple for the final two years - and he has a Temple degree - even though he only needed to be there and pay that level of tuition for two years. It was a pretty crafty plan even if not the "sexiest" as perceived by peers and the neighborhood parents
  7. If Brock Delsignore ends up announcing a transfer to Purdue before vanishing from the wrestling world all together, he would be the third guy to do so in consecutive years at 174/184 going from NC State to Purdue after Jacob Null and Joey Milano preceded him.
  8. No clue. @andegre, do you know how the redshirt information gets reported?
  9. According to Wrestlestat as of today: 125: None 133: None 141: None 149: Tyler Kasak, Penn State 157: Wynton Denkins, Campbell 165: None 174: Chris Moore, Illinois 184: None 197: None 285: None
  10. Rogers hitting the portal to me also means Cardenas is probably agreeing to terms with Michigan as we speak
  11. Could be true. Could be April fools. It's gonna be a long day for me lol
  12. Espalin left the academy after his second year. It's not a dumb question to me, because I asked the same to people on this board with regard to Evan Tallmadge. It appears that it is easier to transfer out within the first two years - otherwise you would owe something back to the school.
  13. it all depends on the terms of his NIL I suppose. Penn State and Minnesota are both good school so he gets a quality education either way. I haven't been able to identify the exact terms of NIL deals though so not sure how they are working typically
  14. He will get paid his NIL and have a great practice room. If he wanted to be a starter above all else, going to Penn State might not have been a wise choice.
  15. I added hometown in case it can shed any light on locations that might be more favorable for the wrestler in question. 16. plus Shane Griffith and Nick Suriano
  17. Either would surprise me as an outsider
  18. This is the lineup I'd like to see next year, but Crook may need a redshirt year to build the weight up. Catka and Smith seem like high probability portal entries unless they don't mind being a backup and would prefer to stay with the team. 125: Eddie Ventresca / Dillon Campbell 133: Cooper Flynn / Logan Frazier 141: Sam Latona / Hunter Mason 149: Caleb Henson / Mac Church 157: Tom Crook / Clayton Ulrey 165: Rafael Hipolito / Connor Brady 174: Lennox Wolak / Kolton Clark 184: TJ Stewart / Sam Fisher 197: Sonny Sasso / Andy Smith 285: Jim Mullens / Hunter Catka
