  1. This has always been a serious problem for me. I have trouble distinguishing red from green. Those damn ankle bands have always been a problem. Turns out that roughly 10% of men are red-green color blind. I've heard higher figures in the past. Add white stripes to the green ones, add black diagonal stripes to the red ones. That solves the real problem here.
  2. Don't stress about it, if it's later - then it's later. We appreciate everything you're doing. (My 1st time at this contest, so I probably shouldn't say "we" at this point - but what the heck, I did.)
  3. Just like wrestlers, seems like wrestling's greatest coaches have had a good handle on their strengths and weaknesses. Some coaches (like Cael) can sit and control it. Others (like Barry) find it helpful to get a little space to work it out. No judgment at all. Both are obviously great wrestlers and coaches. As much as I appreciated his fire, I respected Barry's unusual approach. Not every coach needs to be mat side.
  4. Andrew Sparks and Caleb Fish. I expect them both to crank it up a notch in Tulsa. It's a crazy tough weight class so they'll have to.
  5. Which is a couple of 3/4 Nelsons... just not at the same time, otherwise we'll be back to the full nelson and a whistle shortly thereafter.
  6. Hey c'mon now there "can't can't" - I was focused on making sure MizzouFan01 was secure. I'm dedicated that way. And, BTW, how did you know it was me?
  7. It's fine, all good, My fault - that is a double-check when sending to someone for the first time. (I just did the same thing.) That's new'ish. Late last year, in FFL, we had a similar thing happen when people fat-fingered the name they were sending to and Venmo jumped in to use the phone number to verify because it suspected the wrong contact name.
  8. That is caused by wrong contact.
  9. I had expressed regret for not joining last year because I had scanned the draft thread (and further references here and there in following threads) and it appeared all of you were having a good time with it. For that simple reason - I'd be in favor of a draft thread here. Good marketing. Of course, no strong opinion either way. Also, per a last minute post on this thread, @Wrestleknownothing it would be good to see WKN in the mix.
  10. I'd like to hear what Barry Davis has to say.
  11. Illegal. As has been said, there was no doubt after he clearly left his feet. Good on the ref for calling it "without hesitation" and not wavering. That's not an easy spot to be in.
  12. Confirmed - if there is space. And, FWIW, I can make the 9'ish EST time basically any day.
  13. It's called counter-wrestling. It's smart, strategic, and wins a whole lot of matches. Especially in the 3rd period. Don't know where you wrestled. But if you don't understand the concept of sticking to your strengths while leveraging your opponent's weaknesses at the end of the match - I'm not sure I can help you much more.
  14. Now you're just being argumentative. Re-read my posts, I've already answered that question at least twice.
  15. You're wrong here. Nagao didn't "need to make something happen." You're parroting Le Duke, I've already covered his comments above.
  16. Again, "hindsight." Maybe RBY should have tried to fight out from bottom and get back to neutral and score. I don't doubt that he could have done it. I'm just surprised he didn't even try. A little nutty here. Two wrestlers who didn't go out on a limb in a 2 pt match? RBY is the better wrestler. How could you reasonably expect Nagao to be the one to take the risk?
  17. No wrestler is as great as many like to think. Wrestling is all about strengths and weaknesses. To win, you need to work your strengths and avoid your weaknesses. Across the board, applies to everyone. Are you suggesting that Nagao avoid a strong position to assume a weaker one? That would be... not good strategy. It would be more strategic for Nagao to stay in position and continue to wrestle an aggressive opponent like RBY. It would be fair to assume RBY will try to fight out of this position. As I've said - was a surprise to most everyone that RBY didn't show any fight there.
  18. That's hindsight. Nagao may have been able to take advantage of RBY's escape/reversal attempts to scramble/turn and potentially win the match, had RBY attempted any. Nobody knew RBY was going to turtle up. I was surprised that RBY, as a potential Hodge contender, didn't show any fight from bottom. He was content to win by a few pts.
  19. I seem to remember Nagao throwing legs in and then RBY going to a quad-pod (not to be confused with a quad-box) and RBY proceeding to do nothing. If RBY wanted to wrestle out of bottom, he certainly could have given it a serious effort. Then he could have possibly been free to score more TD's. But he did not. Let's be honest. When Nagao got on top and started clamping down, RBY shut it down. Can't call the guy on top for stalling when the bottom guy isn't doing anything.
  20. I love when a plan comes together - except for this one to work, it'll require that the opponent be at the level of a below average MMA fighter or be a momma's boy like Jake Paul.
  21. My guess is that 'Backup-Young' was a reference to RBY's matches against Desanto last year - the ones where he backed up and purposely avoided wrestling. If that's the case, he's got a fair point.
  22. PSU wins the Big Ten Tournament as expected. But I can't get behind their general "this isn't a big deal" attitude. First it was that the dual championship didn't matter, then duals didn't matter, now it's the conference tournament that doesn't seem to matter much. I hate to say it, but today PSU's "look" was that of being ungrateful for the gifts they have.
