  1. I know that I don't want to be on bottom with a bum knee. Could be tough to get back pressure, and then there's any number of legal ways the top guy can put me in a lot of pain.
  2. I like the pushout in theory. However, mat wrestling really screws this up. This is something that doesn't really exist in freestyle, but is a big part of folk. An escape next to the edge, followed by a pushout? Kinda a weird situation that can be gamed by the top man in order to release the bottom guy for net zero points.
  3. Good points. I'm thinking it might have more to do with getting the youngest Ferrari on board than anything else.
  4. What does that have to do with Team USA singlets from the last two weekends, worn by dozens of people?
  5. You're still harping on this over a week later? He wore a singlet that over 30 other people wore? We know you're no quitter!
  6. I'm not trashing him. He had a reputation of not trying to score a lot of points earlier in career. This seemed to change toward the end of last season if not before. For the most part this season, he was scoring a ton of bonus. With this in mind, it is crazy that he was injured with the tech secured and trying to get the pin. Plus a few weeks ago, he infuriated Maryland by actually pinning a kid, which I thought was absurd on Clemsens's part. With all this in mind, it is a strange situation.
  7. Interesting that Stall Rocky was actually going the extra mile to get the fall despite his rep as a staller. Perhaps Coach Clemsen was misunderstood during the Maryland dual and he was actually deeply concerned about Carter's safety in going for the pin on a hapless Terrapin?
  8. I think he goes hard for whomever "his team" is. I just can't believe he was so dull to realize that he didn't even bother to wrestle off for the spot, but attacked Yianni for not wrestling match 2 concussed. Gilman didn't care enough to try!
  9. Paniro was charged with a crime, because he allegedly gambled under someone else's (his mom's?) identity.
  10. Gilman had a chance to participate. Chose not to, and then trashed Yianni for not wrestling match 2 with a concussion. Basically called him a craven. Spencer had a chance to participate in the trials process last year. Won two matches at US Open and forfeited out...
  11. Nope, not wrong. Considered a member, not allowed to vote, has a four year term.
  12. I thought you might be kidding. But my guess is that Cruz has indeed wrestled in PR. I know multiple people who have represented PR and they have wrestled there and trained there. In some cases, they were definitely required to.
  13. Well, I think he has beaten Vito and maybe Richards the last time they wrestled freestyle. But that was 2019ish. Beat Cruz, as well. Teched a guy one week ago who RBY just struggled with.
  14. Concussions for one thing. Injury history. Maybe not the best training environment. Some head scratching matches in recent years. Lets not pretend he's some unstoppable world beater who doesn't get challenged internationally. He had a 9-8 squeaker over Destribats last Pan Am, and you could definitely make the case that Lee was more competitive vs. Amouzad. But yes, he does have four straight L's to Nick Lee.
  15. With Palacio getting teched by Alvan from Brazil/Columbia U today, I'll have to imagine that Askren might get the best of him.
  16. Alvan from Brazil is a Brazilian-American who wrestles for Columbia (the Ivy, not the country.) NCAA qualifier. I believe he trains at same club as Chamizo etc.
  17. That is a pretty short one, isn't on very often and may change when Cormier's new podcast starts
  18. Yeah, for some reason not a lot of Americans going to Russia over the past couple years?
