Howard 133 maybe? Wasn't it rumored that in 2021 it took him half thr season to get his weight down? They are also getting Braiden Davis. I don't see Noto leaving either.

Worst tactical mistakes of NCAAs?
ScarletKnight replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
A near mistake was Hilday cut Soldano looking for the major and almost got put on his back. Jaja. After that he didn't really shoot again and let the time run out for a major decision -
Does Iowa scout or game plan at all? Or do they spend every minute on strength and conditioning and live goes? Just a bad look for the program. Guys are overworked and injured I know a starter for Iowa from a few years ago (a name everyone would know here) who said he was always tired and sore from their practices. When Ramos made the national team in freestyle years ago (the time he committed to Minnesota), I feel like he was doing that head pinch a lot. And I think he tried it against glory once but the element of surprise was gone Ramos was beating Spencer earlier this year and as the 4 seed, they knew that match was coming. Wonder if they watched Ramos's other matches in preparation or just figured picking top was enough? Jaja Glory said he prepared for years to beat Lee. Would love to know if Iowa had spent any time preparing for glory? Probably not, maybe had Glory made the finals, they would have watched Glory's semis win.

not sure, thanks

Didn't want to start a new Lee thread, but does anyone know what his injury was his junior year in HS? He just wrestled the last month of the season (11 matches, all pins and techs, only one of those 11 were not post season)
-
Why are their last names different? Similar sounds maybe but different spelling?

He was really good. The perfect Iowa wrestling style.

People here at the time said it was comparment syndrome. He put on a lot of weight and wasn't as good at the heavier weight classes. He was at a HS in Minnesota (Shakopee) in between Wyoming Sem (I heard kicked out for fighting a teammate) State College He did not make it to states as a senior, he lost by DQ in the super regions in a match he was losing and being dirty (throwing punches - jaja). https://www.flowrestling.org/video/6917279-189-lbs-semifinal-carson-manville-state-college-area-vs-brooks-gable-dallastown He was #1 in junior high school for sure - and I remember him teching Pat Glory in freestyle when he was 3 grades younger and still in JHS . https://www.flowrestling.org/video/5813903-126-lbs-m-patrick-glory-vs-carson-manville-banditos

Cleveland didn't have many scalpers after Thursday. Yeah I remember Pittsburgh being hard.

Crazy. What was the hardest ticket to get ever, Cleveland?

How tall is Carter Starocci?
ScarletKnight replied to AOCStallsLikeAMug's topic in College Wrestling
O'Toole and Griffith look big for that weight. Why no AOC in that picture? -
I think the Ivies will continue to recruit from the elite HSs that are also good at wrestling (Delbarton, Blair, Malvern). Penn has gotten big names for a while now, and hasn't developed them like the other schools. Leen is new at Brown; Leen and Delgado would seem like a great set of coaches to me. Is Monday gone? Princeton seems to be in the situation Rutgers was in when they had 2 champs - they put more effort into those guys than everyone else and the rest of the team underperformend. They will also get big name recruits for being such a great school. I heard from a reliable source that Columbia isn't as welcome now at the RTC as they once were. That may impair their ability to improve. They certainly seem better though.

Wonder if coming back early from surgery his freshman year contributed to his future problems? He lost his explosive shots and scrambling ability more than 2 years ago when he injured both knees and it doesn't seem like he will ever get that back. His body was too powerful for its own ligaments - obviously a very strong guy.
-
Surprising how good VT is. Almost funny now to think that Brands leaving almost killed the program. Him staying really might have
-
Tom Ryan just had a great recruiting class, has a finalist, a freshman AA, D'emelio over performed. They are in 4th. John Smith on the other hand has not been getting top recruits, 2 AAs this year and Fix got majored after barely losing in 3 finals. So he seems to be regressing. They are in 19th place
-
he's the same age as Glory, how many more years of eligibility does he have? He won 3 matches late but his luck ends tomorrow.
-
Really? He can barely walk. He's been winning on top and by being stronger than people. This won't be a Gable story.

Fall for what? U make it sound like he was headlocked or something Lee is not as good on his feet as he was. He didn't look good on bottom as recently as today. He's predictable on top because he's gotten awwy eith it against almost everyone Plus I could see iowas prep being no game planning just an extra hour of strength and conditioning. Like how Brent went in just looking to do his usual routine against Caldwell. Again brands will console his guy, partially the result of working him out to thr point of injury and letting him remain predictable Of course this only happens if Lee beats Ramos

Noto was clubbing him around and kind of pulled him into his own leg that last one. Lee might not win tonight
-
Does Lee always cross wrist and bar his opponent's left arm? That will make it easier for Glory who says he's been preparing for this match for years. Good season for Cronin but I think his chances tonight are very low.
