  1. Gus Miller, who Nash beat in the state finals his senior season, was just awarded the Rimington Trophy for the FCS division as the top center at that level. He, along with his fellow Jackrabbits will be playing for a national championship today.
  2. Willie tweeted that he weighed out of practice at 286 today, he’s a go for tomorrow.
  3. Berge looked very good against Bullock.
  4. Going down at 7:00 central tonight in Sioux Falls. Could be some interesting matches if both teams are at full strength.
  5. Ellis got pinned by Cody Parker in the 2nd round wrestlebacks at NCAA’s that year. And Konrad pinned Aaron Anspach in the National Championship finals. Not to mention, he decked Steve Mocco to end the national duals the previous season.
  6. The Gophers were missing Mack Reiter and Tyler Safratowich. I’d say there would have been a greater than 50% chance that Konrad would have pinned Ellis in that situation in 2007.
  7. Quin is Marty Morgan’s youngest son. He was 3rd at Minnesota state tournament 195AAA behind McEnelly and Rogotzke last season. He had a nice FS/GR season last summer and is the top 215 pounder in Minnesota this year.
  8. We haven’t seen much of the young guys for the Jacks. There are 3 freshmen at 125 that haven’t wrestled a match yet this year as well as 4x Montana state champion Avery Allen who is a 141/149. I think Colin Dupill (149) and Thomas Dineen (197) both redshirting this year could develop into solid wrestlers. Rasmussen will be a tricky heavyweight as he gains strength and maturity. I believe Martin and Swenson will move up a weight next year once Cook is done. I am obviously more bullish on Cardinal than you are. Quin Morgan seems to be jumping levels to go along with Logan Swenson as recruits next year. I agree that there isn’t a DeVos replacement in the pipeline at the moment unless Swenson would move up once DeVos graduates.
  9. His wins over Farber and Zaccone were dominant. He lost to Bouzakis after a hard fought 6-3 loss to Orine. And Bouzakis was on a tear on the backside at CKLV. We both know that he avenged the loss to Wells. Carlson, Sloan and DeVos have all had a number of losses to lesser opponents than Orine, Bouzakis and Wells.
  10. It’s interesting that Manning sent out backups at the 3 weights where SDSU was clearly favored: 133, 174, 197. And then had Allred go at Hwt where a loss has no affect on his seeding at NCAA’s.
  11. So, how good is Mitchell Messenbrink at grammar?
  12. He was able to beat McDonogold, Aruja and Nogao Might need to see how he does with Ficks
  13. 3 to 4 is a 33% increase, math is hard for some
  14. Better than having Pyles tell you that someone is working an underhook or changing levels.
  15. DT is good on the mic, Pyles should spend more time shutting up.
  16. On FRL they said it would be the 4 women’s first and then 125 through 285 in order.
  17. 2012: 8-0, 6-0, fall, 4-3 and 4-1 2013: 4-0, fall, 1-0, 5-4 and 6-2 22 points and a fall in 2012, and 21 points and a fall in 2013.
