  1. 125 Cardinale (WV) mff in the QF after having a Bye in the 1st round. Doesn't he have to step on the mat & take a loss via ID to qualify for an At-Large bid to NCAA ?
  2. Both 141 Bell (Rider) & 149 Stonecheck (LHU) have their AQ’s stolen & will both be hoping for At-Large bids. More to follow tommorow.
  3. Yea, I was shocked while watching that match that Reid wasn’t DQ’d. He did it twice in tb. The NIU coach was livid for good reason.
  4. Examples of the "Unintended Consequences" wouid be : 125: #9 (IM) DeAugustion (Northwestern) 141: #7 Tal-Shahar (Northwestern) 157:: #13 Carr (Illinois) & #14 Siebrecht (Iowa) 174: #12 Brands (Iowa) I am probably missing several others. All of these wrestlers are good bets to "steal" an NCAA bid at the expense of an AQ wrestler.
  5. Thanks for your response. I know you didn't just "throw it out there". It is NOT a uniform practice/criteria. I can not find another Conference that does this when reviewing AQ's & Seeds. I agree with your thoughts on "unintended consequences". I don't expect the NCAA to address this. Minneo's example doesn't apply as Yianni was awarded an AQ.
  6. Just noticed ... @174, no returning AA Clay Lautt (N.Carolina). This was his 6th season, is he done ?

  9. Is this true ? I suppose it is as you seem to be in the know. If so, do any other Conferences do this ? This would seem to contradict the purpose of Seeding ... which is to evaluate/seed a wrestlers regular season resume. Yes, awarding an AQ does evaluate to some extent but doesn't specifically focus on Conference results. Interesting.
  10. 133 (Palmer-UTC) & 184 (Waddell-UTC) ... who both eaned AQ's for the SoCon ... will both have to OVER-perform to qualify as #3 Seeds.

  12. I hope so also. I got lucky a few years ago and won the Big 10 pick um contest. Prize was a nice ballcap with Team USA signatures (I wear it every year @ NCAA's). I would like an oppurtunity to repeat
  13. Thank you WKN. Hopefully there will be no more withrawals from Qualifiers.
  14. WKN - How do the Top 10 NCAA Team Projections change with the recent news of Heinselman (OSU) & Vasquez (ASU) being out ? Feel for those wrestlers. Wondering what the impact of their absences could potentially mean to the Team race ?
  15. How exactly does voiding the 2 marquee match-ups of this dual grow the sport ? Yet another dual where the marquee match-ups do NOT happen has the opposite effect on building fan interest and "growing" the sport.
  16. Yea, I was there for that dual when ISU opted to keep most of their starters home for the “Dresser Open”. Heading to the Dual now and really hoping all these matches happen. A big ask I know.
  17. Seems so. How do the Coaches have an “oversight” on a wrestler just coming off consecutive wins against the Intermat #3 & #4 (DeAugustino & McKee) literally days before the Ranking. Lol.
  18. Why isn't Cronin (Nebraska) on the Coaches 125# Ranking ? What am I missing here ? WKN, anybody ?
  19. +1 after attending home duals for many years
  20. It doesn’t matter which weight. A quality addition !
  21. Wrestleknownothing - Thank you for pre-season Rankings !
  22. I missed the original Intermat pre-season Rankings. I have googled looking for them but every article you find has a hyperlink that takes you only to current (Nov.8) Rankings, NOT to the Rankings the article is discussing/referencing. Is there any way to access previous Intermat college Rankings ? Thanks.
