I certainly remembered Russ Houck's Wrestling Camp... went there three times in the early 70's. Also Chris Taylor was there... I remembered one evening , we were crowded in one of the wrestling pavilions listening to some of his experience @ the '72 Olympics. The lights were attracting a lot of moths... one particularly large moth was fluttering towards Chris... he flicked his hand at it and said "BEGONE!" The moth did a 180 and went away. The crowd laughed! D3

No... but video killed the radio star. D3

Side note to last weekends tourny... USA 125Kg Hill was quite small, in comparison to Mahil from Canada. And despite that, he was in the match till the end. (Though, after going behind 1-1 criteria after Mahil got the shot clock point, I felt it would be an uphill climb for Hill. Pun was unintentional, of course! ) D3

20-zip... it was rather one sided. But the German did a great impression of a turtle! D3

Some of you may already know this, but they're going to start off w/the Men's FS on this Thursday and conclude on Friday, the Women's FS sandwiched between the Men's FS and Men's GR, which will be run on Sat./Sun. Sorry, no weekend FS for all you FS fans out there. D3

Watched yesterday's FS action... the fact that 125Kg'er Hill's loss to Canada's Mahil by 4-4 criteria was the only thing that separated the USA from sweeping the gold. Bouzakis @ 61Kg was a pitbull on the mat. The fact that he gave up a point to Kirk from Puerto Rico then proceeded to take him apart for a 12-1 TF. What was worse was when Herrera of Peru hit a 4 pt throw only delayed the inevitable 14-4 TF that NB put on him to nab the gold. Bouzakis was awarded the Golden Boot as the Outstanding Wrestler in the Tournament. D3

With Greco emphasizing holds above the waist, opponents can't use their legs other than to shift them around as a counter balance in "trying" to thwart the throw. Other than having "velcro" hips to the mat, the thrower if successfully lifting his opponents up will seek to nab that hi-amplitude throw for 4/5pts. Freestylers chance at that at all, usually will hit that in a transition for nabbing a TD. The use of legs kind of makes those throws a bit more challenging. Does that help things for you? D3

Yesterday's freeze-ups that came in the most unfortunate time in a lot of matches was totally frustrating! This is just... sad all over. D3
