  1. So he will be a 21 year old true freshman.... 19 Spring of 2021....20 in Spring of 2022.... 21 in Spring of 2023 Funny how the 2021 Tennessee State Championship bracket shows him as a sophomore.
  2. Graduating at 19 is not common... 17-18 is common. 19 means you were held back or started late.
  3. They didn't even have to show up to create that meltdown.
  4. So portal next year then say...Nebraska? Kind of a mid-west tour?
  5. Amazing how quickly tides turn.... One day Iowa is competing for the national title...the next top 10. One day Chittum is the favorite at 157...the next he is heading to ISU. One day all the Ferraris are heading to Iowa...the next day Rutgers enters the picture. As the Iowa Word Turns ...
  6. Agree - year long suspension. It will be interesting to see what wrestling names come up at Iowa and ISU. They already pulled a baseball athlete from competition because of the investigation. Below is a quote from the article that states there is not evidence of actual match fixing. Brian Ohorilko, the director of gaming for the commission, said there is no evidence of match fixing or suspicious wagering activity. "There wasn't anything giving us pause or leading us to believe that any of these markets were compromised," he told the Action Network.
  7. Joel Adams will be an interesting one to watch down the road. The old cliche of how he will transition to folk style after focusing on greco the next year or two.
  8. Absolutely...... no argument here. Great that Loch Haven and Moore stuck with him and played a part in his overcoming personal problems to become a success.... something that didn't happen at Ok State. A mid-level (if that) school where kids can still succeed....imagine that. My point being (as a response to another comment), don't diss on the Mid-low level programs like the Rutgers and Loch Havens where kids can still be successful. In the day and age of NIL and the focus being Iowa vs PSU ... It just makes me a bigger fan of the mid-tier programs.
  9. Recent Shenanigans? By visiting? Did you think these guys only visit Iowa when they are recruited? Rutgers is a good school. Remember Marstellar? Thrived at Lock Haven.
  10. 26 at Iowa across 5 sports including wrestling. 15 at Iowa State. Trouble brewing. It’s a year long season and post season ban if I understand correctly.
  11. Involves wrestling https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/37568592/gaming-commission-investigating-iowa-possible-ncaa-violation
  12. Pretty common practice these days for recruits to do a photo op in the gear of the school they are visiting.
  13. It helps if you read the tweet.... "on a visit with RU wrestling"
  14. True... they have a program similar to that for schools in the West as well.
  15. Homegrown is still a thing... but not as much of a thing as it used to be. With the amount of travel these kids do with wrestling they are able to see schools, meet people, go to camps under coaches, etc. A lot kids do not want to stay home no matter what, so it's not always an indication of the program.
  16. Anyone surprised by who DIDN"T enter the portal? I thought Sean Harman might enter from Missouri with Hawks and Whiting there.
  17. He should be trying to run down Sasso and Coy.
  18. I think Darracott heads up to 165 - He did wrestle 57 and 65 his freshman year. However he runs into Hunter Garvin at 165, who will also be a very tough out. Garvin had some mixed results as a true freshman, but he wrestled Griffith and Calindo pretty close. There is a possibility that Cardenas could take a redshirt. Whatever the case - Stanford will have some depth there.
