  1. Z Elam 8-1 over Nevills. No Mizzou rep at 197 for the tournament
  2. Edmond and Mocco with losses in the finals. Kal Miller and Aden Kemp or Cal Poly. Clayton Whitting beats both Harmon and Hawks to win the championship. Is he now the starter?
  3. Coach Stearns was a beast. His son Austin, 4x Mo state medalists and finalist and I attended the same high school. I’m a couple years older, but Coach Stearns used to whip all of us daily in the room.
  4. I absolutely do not share the same thoughts as Jimmy lol.
  5. I forgot about Cobe, but yes him as well.
  6. For Iowa it means Assad, Cass are done. Brands can apply for a medical RS for missing a year prior. May or may not get approved. Kennedy and Scheiver will miss time, not sure about the whole year. For Iowa St, Johnson out for the year with a year lost eligibility wise as well.
  7. I could see R Elam moving to HWY next year and one of the 184’s moving to 197. I can’t wait to see Sinclair, wonder if he RS?
  8. He beat Steed 2-1. Both had escapes, but Mauller won on RT.
  9. I’m wondering if the loser of Mauller/Steed drops to 149. Mauller there and Steed at 57 makes for our best lineup I would think. Idk if Steed can cut that far though. If that’s the case and Mauller goes 57 and Steed can’t make the cut, I think that leaves a hole at 49.
  10. Not saying this isn’t the facts, could be why Swederski has said publicly that he will be at 149 this year.
  11. If anyone knows I’m interested in how the Forces teams work. I’m guessing all members are active duty soldiers but instead of daily MOS work, they focus solely on the sport for the team they are on. Also, is the WCAP the same as being on the forces team? I know Burkett, Spenser Mango for example are WCAP wrestlers. They have/had military rank are stationed in Colorado, at Ft. Carson which has the OLY training center. It’s also a base anyone can be assigned. I’m not sure but I would think they are not mixed. Athletes on one part of the base and regular soldiers on another. My question is how does one get on those teams/programs?
  12. I served 8 years active duty from 2003-2011. Things may have changed since then, but at that time Military members have a couple of options. I will speak solely on the Army, as each separate forces may do it differently. 1, in their spare time they can take classes for free using tuition assistance(TA), paperwork signed by their company commander that allows them to take classes. This can be done online or in person and doesn’t affect their normally daily operations. They still go to work daily and work comes first. 2, when a soldier is in their reenlistment window sometimes and I do mean sometimes they will have the option to reenlist for X amount of years but part of the deal is they get what’s called a school opp. For 6 months the soldier will attend school in person or online. During this time the soldier goes to class like a normal civilian, doesn’t report to his/her military job. They do have to check in with a supervisor via phone, email etc once a week. They can be called in for (UA) urinalysis testing and any mandatory formations, but it’s mostly school only for those 6 months. Soldiers must remain in good standing GPA and grades wise with the school the entire time using both options. As well as good standing with the Army. Can not be flagged, No discipline problems, pass pt test etc. Obviously anyone can pay their own way through school. As far as post military eligibility after they have served, I have no idea. I would think it’s similar to someone taking a Mormon mission but I could be wrong.
  13. No but I’ll be checking results on the wrestlers from Mo. 16U and Junior girls is off to a pretty good start. FHC with a 4th place AA in 16U in Kailey Benson. That’s pretty cool when the alma mater gets a Fargo AA.
  14. Oh I’m super excited about Cam. I think he and J Canoway will battle for the spot at 157. Steed wrestled great at the scuffle as KOT replacement.
  15. So Mack Mauger, Zeke Selzter the Juco AA, and Williams all potential 125/133. Mack most likely career 125, just nonetheless where do they all fit?
  16. Walker to Mizzou? Guess I missed this, details please ive heard Mizzou is in on some PA guys, for 25. Maple is making strides up that way
  17. Nathan Butler, Leavenworth wrestled at Stanford I believe. He was pretty good. Nathan Furches Derry was a top recruit. Not sure what happened after high school though.
  18. Not saying you’re wrong about anything, but if his achievements on and off where part of his decision and this is not a knock on the Sooners, why choose them in the first place? I understand the coaching change, but have the Sooners had a WT member in freestyle recently? I know Zan is more Greco, how have the Sooners done on that end? A lot of MO good Mo guys have wrestled for OU. Bailey, Joiner, Penner, Wingburmuhler, The Lester’s, Brewer etc. So Mizzou losing recruits to OU isn’t new. Spates did a great job getting some of the top MO talent. But that was years ago that OU was relevant. Just my thoughts. I wish Zan nothing but the best. Do Mo proud at Wisconsin.
  19. Would’ve been between Zan and Seltzer. I’d pay to see that match.
  20. You and your son from Mo or national tournaments?
  21. You think that’s what it is, NIL money? I had that in mind, but not sure that’s the main reason. Then again I have no clue and it could be 100% the reason. Just would like to see more transfers at least consider Mizzou.
  22. General question, but why doesn’t some of these portal guys transfer to Mizzou? I get Smith wants “Tiger style” guys, and maybe the interest isn’t there for some. But it seems to me at least Mizzou isn’t even an option. Maybe Smith is loyal to his recruits and that’s awesome. We’ve had some transfers, Mikey England and Blaise Butler mixed with some homegrown kids that went elsewhere first and came home. For example a wrestler like Franek would be a great addition at 157 where we don’t have a proven wrestler at this point. Just curious why more wouldn’t or haven’t chose to join a top 10 team more often.
