Very subjective. It’s not like it’s heavily documented that people complained about multiple hour long wait times every election and have had to leave the line and not cast a vote

If someone is living here in America whether it be legally or illegally they pay sales tax that like you said goes to pay for city, county, and state operations I believe they should be able to vote in those elections because they are directly being taxed so they should be able to vote for representation. Some Homeless people do not have jobs and therefore do not pay federal income tax, should they not be able to elect federal officers even though they are citizens?

People pay taxes no matter what, whether it be sales tax or other taxes, literally every single person pays some sort of tax. Paying these taxes entitles you to representation in your government and the right to vote for that representation. Remember, no taxation without representation

Voter ID is fine as long as there is no charge for it. It might make sense to open in person voting to at least one whole week or a month with voter id so people can get the chance to vote. I’m sure having more days to vote would put less strain and stress on poll workers and counters

So your limit to being a disenfranchised voter was $40-$50. To others it will be $14. $0 would be the most reasonable since it’s a constitutional right to vote

While I do not believe that voter id laws are targeted towards a race, i believe they are made to reduce the amount of people voting. Having to pay for the right to vote is not constitutional. However you do not so I will ask what do you think is the most reasonable price you have to pay to be able to vote? When you are down to your last $10 or however much money you have left and your choices are either feeding your children or voting what do you think 99% of people will do?

Quick google search shows that North Carolina only proves a free ID if you are under 17, legally blind, homeless, or had a license that was cancelled due to disability or disease. If you have to pay for an ID to exercise your right to vote it’s not a right it’s a tax. So it doesn’t look like people are saying black people can’t figure out how to get an id like you state, but more so that having to pay to vote is not fair and accessible to the whole population of the state

Most of these protestors are following the law. The students at UT were following the law that Abbott himself signed. Every single person the police illegally arrested had their charges dropped
