  1. We might be going there this year. But it is capitalized. mspart
  2. Does this mean those guys won't sign up, or they just haven't signed up? mspart
  3. Disney took a position, having a special relationship with FL, that was opposite to what the FL legislature and, by extension, the people wanted. And they were very very vocal about this opposition. If they wanted to become political about this, the situation became political. To your last sentence, this has been going on everyday. I agree it is unamerican to have to pay a heavy price for speaking your mind. The Left has been doing that very thing to non-conformists for years now. Now the left is complaining when the table is turned? I see this as a tit for tat situation. mspart
  4. GWN, I think it wasn't that Disney is left leaning, it was their attitude to teaching K-3 kids about sex, sexuality and gender dysphoria. They complained and were going to push to have that law removed. So they essentially became political. So the R's in the legialature and governors office said, you don't want to go there. What this is about is teaching children that changing their genders is a good thing and can be done and in some cases is the right thing to do. And Disney was leading that charge. And Democrats all over the nation are leading that charge. This is just wrong and I don't understand how adults could think puberty blockers, and gender reassignment surgery is a good thing for minors, that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Minors don't have the maturity to make that kind of decision. That is what this whole thing is about. mspart
  5. Well, when democrats push gender affirming drugs and surgeries for minors, and grooming them to think this is a wonderful idea, that is certainly not leading with kindness, do you agree? That is what the issue was with DeSantis and the so called Dont say gay bill. Never did the bill say anything about gay. What it said was there will be no teaching of sex, sexuality, or gender in classes K-3. And that was the most horrible thing in the world to the D's. Why is that, I'm sure you are asking. Well, because that is called in other realms of thought, grooming. We are indoctrinating the kids to think they can change their gender and this by the state. This is not parents' call, strictly the State's call. Well now it isn't the State's call and how sad is that? Very sad from the Disney and D hubbub that this created. Since when are minors capable of making life long decisions? Since never. Yet, we tell them they can't drive, they can't drink, they can't own a house, they can't buy a gun, but by golly, they can take puberty blocking drugs that will affect them the rest of their lives and they can cut their breasts off and testicles and penis off and this will affect them the rest of their lives. Do you not see a problem here? That is why she said what she said. It is not rocket science unless you are fully into the idea that minors are fully intellectually able to make these kinds of decisions. If they can for that, then these same people should be pushing them to drive cars and buy guns at age 11. Of course no sane adult would do that, yet insane adults are clamoring for grooming kids in school to have them change their gender. One more thing, is that there is no changing one's gender. You are what you are. There is no changing that. You can cut off and plug up and extract what you will but that does not change your gender. Your choromosomes still tell the truth. If a minor wants to change their sex, they can make that decision when they are an adult, but preying on minors for this purpose is ghastly and evil. Just my $0.02. mspart
  6. Good to know U of Wash was leading the charge. I went to BYU and after I got out Mark Schultz was leading the team and doing well. Then BYU dropped wrestling. I still haven't forgiven them. mspart
  7. Dang. I wonder where he is going to end up? I've always liked Roselli, looks similar to my brother. Except my brother has hair!! mspart
  8. I used to love Cracker Barrel, but the last two times we ate there, it was not that good. So I'm kind of in agreement. But when someone mentions it, I remember when I loved it. mspart
  9. University of WA dropped Wrestling in 1979. I still feel shafted on that. mspart
  10. Classic line from that movie!! mspart
  11. scourge, I won't repeat everything you said in your very long and intense response, thanks by the way, it is good reading. But when I think of the old guys vs the new guys, I'm not thinking the techniques they had. I'm thinking about the qualities that made them champions. Do you think if McIlravy was coming up today, he would be no champion? With the mental toughness and desire for excellence, he would have figured it out just like he did a long time ago. Same with most of these older guys. Gable looks downright basic when he wrestled, but do you think a guy like him who HAD to win would have settled for anything less now as opposed to then? That is the kind of comparison I have in my mind when I do these games. I just feel that the guys back then, if they came around now, would still be incredible like they were then because they would have found a way like they did then. mspart
  12. If there only was a Cracker Barrel here in Seattle area. They won't allow it. Too unhealthy and uncouth for the sophisticated folks around here!!! However Chic-Filet has made an inroad here. I haven't been there yet. Had it in an airport in Philly? and thought it was ok. Nothing special. Lines for drive through are epic. mspart
  13. Kalishkanov and Kalishnikov are different names. That may have something to do with the confusion. mspart
  14. I agree with you regarding Biden, Harris, and Trump. DeSantis is very competent and not nearly as polarizing as Trump. The Ds have a real problem with Biden and Harris. Both are not up to the job. This has been borne out by Biden's obvious mental decline and Harris' inability to string together a few coherent sentences. DeSantis suffers from neither and doesn't self inflict like Trump. Of the 4, DeSantis is superior in my opinion. Are there better Ds out there? Maybe that is a question that should be answered. mspart
  15. I think this is correct. Even though DeSantis is behind, I think once he starts campaigning there will be a shift in peoples opinions. mspart
  16. OK, I've seen those. If the UV works, and that sole mat works, how did the skin diseases proliferate? Maybe they should clean the mat each match! mspart
  17. Hey PortaJohn, This is just my opinion. Gable's style may have been more simple but his style of coaching was very mental. I think Gable was more intuitive about his wrestlers than Brands. Maybe Cael is there (based on performance). Gable was able to get the most out of his wrestlers and that wasn't based only on his simple style. It was his ability to give each individual what they needed to succeed mentally. I won't say it was smarter, he just saw his wrestlers differently and knew them and worked them in a way they needed to be worked. Brands is not there. I see Brands as a ground and pound guy, devoid of nuance. mspart
  18. Someone above was arguing that Cael has demonstrated he is much better than Gable at coaching, which is a stretch because they never actually coached against each other. They are using the Brands as the equivalent of Gable. Gable was tough as anyone on the teams he coached could attest to. But not only that, he was mentally into each wrestler and was able to pull the very best from each one. The Brands are good but not that good. Gable had an instinct that allowed him to mentally get inside their heads and then get the best out of them. Cael is proving to be like that as well. But I don't think we can make a comparison to Gable based on current results. Not yet. That said, Cael is the gold standard for college wrestling currently. mspart
  19. And why are they wearing regular shoes. Does no good to stomp all over the previously sterilized mat with your filthy shoes. mspart
  20. He fell into the Gable mistake. He figured it was his and just needed to be crowned. Hopefully this taught him the same lesson. mspart
