  1. I guess it isn't just wrestling I know nothing about. I also have no clue what you are talking about.
  2. That sounds like we will get Kasak v Gomez. Yes, please, and thank you.
  3. From a pure volume standpoint the best for me was Kemerer v Starocci at CHA in 2022. It was 1-1 after regulation. There had been a couple of great scrambles from both wrestlers that had not resulted in a score. Starocci shot with 0:20 left and Kemerer stoned him, starting another scramble. When the ref signaled for the TD with zeros on the clock in SV (later waived off) the explosion of sound was disorientating. It actually made me dizzy. I have never experienced anything like that. It was awesome.
  4. hard to bet a line without knowing who will step on the line
  5. That is wonderful that you were able to let him know.
  6. What a great picture. Love it. Now how did they get to that point? How does one secure a figure four on both arms?
  7. I love the Robin Reed stories. As a matter of fact, I could not love them any more than I do. But.... They are impossible to verify.
  8. Can you track the number of times quoted, too?
  9. Are we going to wind up with 9 threads about this guy too?
  10. The other Bo Nickal v Myles Martin. He's got the chin...for the team title.
  11. Has to be Gable. Pinned 31 of 34. The other three were a 23-3 win, a 9-4 win, and a 13-11 loss.
  12. Gabe Dean, 2017 30-0 going into the final with a 40 match winning streak and an 83% bonus rate.
  13. Nick Gwiazdowski, 2016 after winning 82 straight loses the final in SV to a plucky undersized heavy who would never be heard from again.
  14. #1 seeds that did not AA 2001 - Present 2001 - 149 Reggie Wright, Oklahoma St - Lost in the blood round 2002 - 184 Scott Justus, Virginia Tech - L, W, L 2003 - 174 Greg Jones, West Virginia - Round of 16 2005 - 157 Alex Tirapelle, Illinois - Lost in the blood round 2007 - 197 Max Askren, Missouri - 0-2 BBQ 2009 - 165 Mack Lewnes, Cornell - 0-2 BBQ 2011 - 149 Darrion Caldwell, NC State - 1-2 injury default, MFF 2021 - 165 Alex Marinelli, Iowa - MFF in the blood round
  15. In the full wrestleback era (1996 - present) only 8 of the #1 seeds failed to AA. That is a more fair list to pull from.
  16. In the 10 weight era 1952-present - though in 1966-69 there were 11) there have been 44 #1 seeds who failed to AA. That is probably a good place to start. 1964 was the toughest year for #1 seeds. Three failed to AA. At 130 Pitts Mike Johnson lost in the first round and must have been injured because he MFF'd the consolation. At 157 Jumpin Jack Flasche lost in the quarters and did not make the consolation bracket. At heavyweight Jim Nance also lost in the quarters and decided to start his broadcasting career immediately.
