  1. Hang on. How can Cael Sanderson destroy what was already destroyed by Dan Gable and multiple Oklahoma State coaches before him?
  2. Real Woods had all 5 guys above him clear out. As the highest placing returnee, it was reasonable to consider him an immediate title contender.
  3. I remembered that I have looked at NCAA tournament bonus points in the past, so I dug it up and updated for 2023. They have been down the past two years.
  4. Sadly I do not. I was just quoting from the article. I would like to look at them as well.
  5. I am not sure who the author of those points was, but with regard to point one above, point two applies. I get that it is hard to prove the negative, but I am highly skeptical that rule changes do not lead to increases in viewership, or decreases in decreases in viewership. After all it is usually when viewership is decreasing that changes are made (see the first bullet point below). To not make changes at such a time would be the irresponsible thing to do. And while specific data was not presented, committee members did referred to data that was used to make these decisions. Examples from the Flo article: Viewership was down for the NCAA tournament with probably some of the best storylines we’ve ever had all in one year national tournament match points down 19 percent since 2019 and takedowns down almost 17 percent during the same time frame If you look at the numbers statistically, takedowns have gone down, backpoints have gone down, tech falls have gone down. Everything has decreased in the last 10 years in our numbers, so we’ve got to figure out how to create more action, more points, more opportunities
  6. No real knowledge, but it seems like Anthony was at the end of his process, while AJ still has quite a ways to go.
  7. This is the internet. Bags of cash in a dark alley while evil-laughing about getting one over on the comp must be the answer.
  8. The wording in the article is grasping. Usually, but not necessarily exclusively, grasp means with the hand. So I was left wondering if grasp included hooking the ankle with the leg. Perhaps the proposed rule change uses clearer language.
  9. Appeal is a concept when a court makes a decision. Fox volunteered to settle and avoid court. There is nothing to appeal.
  10. Examine the phrase "DeSantis is considering various options to get back at the company" and compare it to the typical duties of a governor.
  11. Like using "just", "triggered" is what people say when someone disagrees with them. I am absolutely, 100%, unapologetically a PSU fan. And you are making my point. If Sanderson has the top ranked 2024 class (look it up, another great deflection, then what will change? More so.
  12. So, I have seen this claim a number of places, but I have never seen anyone be able to back it up with facts. But even if it is backed up with facts, it ignores at least two important points. First, if PSU has had the best recruits for a decade, what has changed to make that no longer the case? Presumably, under the success begets success philosophy, the PSU recruiting classes would get more so, not less. Using "just" makes it seem way more random than it actually is. Secondly, having the best recruiting class is a purely subjective statement. Who determines the best recruits, and why do we think they are always accurate? There is no definitive way to determine this. It feels like the boogie man people like to use when they want to explain away something they do not truly understand. More likely is that PSU is very good at determining who is likely to succeed at the college level and also very good at landing them as recruits. But to be clear, I also do not understand what is going on, but I am very confident it is not as simple as "just had the best recruits".
