    In this case it was listed poorly. They used folkstyle scoreboards (no underlining) matside and the jumbotron scoreboard did not show who had criteria. About half way through the first session they made an announcement that they were moving the dots signifying the period back and forth between the red and green (no blue) sides to indicate criteria. Sub-optimal.

    Agreed. I thought it was well done. Smoothly run, great video review look ins, and @Jason Bryant was topnotch explaining challenges and reasons for rulings. My only niggle was the scoreboards. They used folkstyle scoreboards which meant they had to jury rig the criteria signifier. No underlined score. Instead they would switch the period indicator to red or green (no blue) to signify criteria.

    I wouldn't say he had to overcome the fans in the arena. They were definitely behind him.

    They showed three different angles in the arena where it was obvious. The last of the three was the best and the singlet was extended 6 to 8 inches away from Burroughs' leg. But, people have a hard time abandoning their hot take once they commit to it.

    Hopefully they start having the virtuous cycle where RTC results begin to pay off with college recruiting wins. If they can get the Warners, Woods, Gomezes, Cassiopis, etc. to stay home it wound pay big dividends.

    In the arena it was a different experience. @Jason Bryant did an excellent job explaining what was challenged. And the refs gave clear explanations over the PA of the results of a challenge. They also put on the jumbotron what was being reviewed by the refs. For example, there was a different view of the Nick Lee / Yianni Diakomihalis action at the end of match 2 on the jumbotron. When they showed it in the arena there was a loud concensus for two.

    I think you are right. The wrestlingstats brackets have it as Oklahoma State, but I think A&M is correct. Edit: Just checked. It was A&M until 1958.

    I agree that it probably had little impact on the action, but I am perfectly fine with the athlete calling attention to it. He felt it and it was confirmed to very clearly have happened, so it is reasonable to say he felt impeded by it (it impacted the action). And if they had not awarded the point after seeing the very clear pull, that would have been the travesty.

    In 1929 Oklahoma State's 115 pounder, Dell Shockley, entered a three man bracket, got a first round bye (yep, he got a bye to the final), then lost in the final and the true second match. 0-2 BBQ, but still an All-American. I can find no record of Dell Shockley before or after 1929.
