  1. I think the actual "best" rivalry game is the Egg Bowl, personally, and I'm dead serious.
  2. Not about showing anybody anything. I'm making a personal choice, not organizing a boycott. Why would I watch a sporting contest that I don't believe is legitimate? If the game results don't matter, why should I watch the games?
  3. I'm not going to watch. The games don't matter, after all.
  4. Oh, damn. Woof, that sucks. Speedy recovery for Van Ness who really seemed to find something at NCAAs last year.
  5. Auburn is bad, except when they're playing Bama, in which case they're good because of "the rivalry" (intangible) but also, they're actually good because they have some close losses to good teams (other than New Mexico State, the second best team in a G5 conference who blew them out by 3 touchdowns the week before the Iron Bowl) which is now tangible.
  6. Alabama is undoubtedly the better program overall than FSU; this is sports, though, and the game results are what is supposed to control, otherwise there is no point in playing the games at all
  7. You guys are just shifting targets to suit you in the argument. It's tangible except where it's intangible.
  8. For any lawyer unconnected in the case to watch the lengths that the judge in NY is going to NOT sanction Trump for violating court orders, and then listen to conservatives claims he's the victim of a two-tiered justice system is remarkably laughable. I've seen defendant's literally physically gagged in court and jailed for not stopping talking in court when they've been ordered not to. With regards to his document case, they gave him like 6 warnings to return the documents and he just refused.
  9. You have no idea what you're talking about. I live 45 minutes from Gainesville. It is insane. I was at the game this year, the place was insane, loud, drunk, and several arrests were made. And that's why it gets rewarded in college football.... until this year when the SEC wasn't going to make it in, and instead they put two teams who were not able to do that in.
  10. Great, we agree. College teams will often struggle against lesser teams. Which is why going undefeated is so impressive.
  11. Now do the Arkansas game. And also, the exact same situation being held against FSU vs. the Gators.
  12. Yeah. Rankings they all "earned" by beating each other. A tautology of dominance. We're good because we beat SEC teams who are good because they're in the SEC.
  13. The highest ranked out of conference win by any SEC team this year? The Louisville Cardinals.
  14. Nah. They don't. https://nypost.com/2023/12/04/news/biden-got-recurring-1380-payments-from-hunter-firm-in-2018/ Basically, there were a total of three payments made to Joe Biden from his son which, again, appears to be Hunter repaying his father, this time for car payments. But they used the word "monthly" as if this amount was being sent to him every month since 2018. Hilarious.
  15. There is no 40k from Hunter to Joe. There is 40k from Jim to Joe, after Joe gave 40k to Jim.
  16. Two one-loss power 5 conference over an undefeated power 5 conference champion isn't antithetical to how college football has worked? It's literally the first time this has happened under this system.
  17. Exactly. What happened yesterday is antithetical to how sports typically work.
  18. For literally all of college football history, this is true. Nobody has ever said it shouldn't be a factor, this is a huge strawman.
  19. No idea, I'm not sure who will bother playing, the game means nothing and many of FSUs best players are draft eligible. ETA: also, that's the reason they play the games. Why did they bother to play the SEC championship game? UGA was a goodly favorite.
  20. It would, except Bama has similar results on their ledger, AND a loss, and came much closer to losing against an equivalent Auburn team [who just got blown out by New Mexico State] than FSU came to losing Florida.
  21. Under the argument they're using on ESPN, why wouldn't Georgia be over FSU also? Hell, why rank FSU in the top 6 at all? Totally inconsistent just to get to a desired result. College football fans can miss me forever with their "college is better because ALL the games matter" argument from here on out. My point, @WrestlingRasta, is that last week Bama needed a miracle to beat Auburn. They struggled mightily against A&M, Arkansas, and USF, all mediocre to bad teams. This week they were great, no doubt, but it's not supposed to be a one week sport. They looked very bad literally LAST WEEK.
  22. Don't lose at home by 10. This is college football. I don't need an eyeball test for that, there's an L in that column. But again, people advocating for Bama are just insisting we focus on what happened yesterday. That's not even the QB FSU would be rolling out there in the CFP.
