BTW i noticed a lot of our frequent commenters who were defending the refusal for public testimony blatantly ignored this from less than a month prior to Comer rejecting Hunter's offer to testify publicly. Why the ignoring? Well if you believe some of your cohorts, these new charges are just a ploy to protect Hunter. So which is it? And nobody is saying Hunter Biden shouldn't be investigated, that's a strawman. Investigate away. But the fruitless attempts to tie it to Joe so far appear to be just that: fruitless, but politically popular with the base. Like I said, vibes-based politicking.

I've known CP for years, met him in person for the first time at WTT last year. He's a good dude. I've met @Husker_Du a couple of different times (first in Destin for the first "collegiate duals" event where Iowa and Penn State both wrestled, but chose not to wrestle each other to my everlasting annoyance and again at Vegas where we had a great time at the craps table). Good dude. I also have known @Jason Bryant for years. Good dude, AND he got me a beer at my first NCAA tournament. I met @Hammerlock3, too, good dude who hates most everybody. Now, not everybody is everybody's cup of tea, and I will admit I'm particularly forgiving in this area (it takes a lot for me not to like somebody), so it's perfectly ok to not like any of the above, but if you're basing that only on what you've observed in public forums, I can tell you that's not all of who any of these guys are. I met all those guys through the message boards. The tone and tenor of the message boards is snarky, and it's carried over to varying degrees in their work (JB least of all by far). They all love the sport, but Willie is the only one who was successful at the sport as a competitor; this doesn't matter to me, I sucked at wrestling. Pyles has done some stuff that (rightly) annoyed people, but this is nothing; it's honest and transparent, and we should want more of that. For so long most of the media coverage has been minimal in terms of direct information, and that's started to change recently. Pyles and Willie for years (using their various forums) have discussed that the coaches bitch about other teams cheating in recruiting, but nobody will go on the record. I'm glad for the transparency, and he's right...Borelli was complaining and "punching down" without acknowledging any counterpoint. EDIT: Also, this obviously doesn't take into their personal relationships with one another. Obviously Willie and CP have had very public issues after seeming quite close for years, although there seemed to be some thawing recently. Obviously Willie's lived experience is obviously more deep than my own in this area, lol.

Literally nobody is stopping them from investigating, and certainly nobody is making them, repeatedly claim they have evidence, and then when it's time to put up, they pee down their legs. Is it likely a huge waste of taxpayer money to investigate nothing purely to prop up the ego of one 79 year old man-child and/or to pass modern GOP purity tests? Yes, of course. But who cares? Depends on how we're defining heels. I don't think it's necessarily fair to group the different kinds. No. My point is not that South Carolina shouldn't be allowed to divest themselves, it's that they're doing the same thing they're criticizing Disney for doing. Much like I think it's fine for Disney to choose to spend their money elsewhere, it's fine for SC to choose to spend their money elsewhere (though I would bet it's not so universally a popular position as the official mentioned thinks it is). I just find it hilarious that he's criticizing Disney for pulling it's money from Twitter (for Twitter doing something they didn't want to be associated with) and doing so by pulling his money away from a company for that company doing something he doesn't want to be associated with.

They would likely go out of their way to give him opportunities, like they did with Trump. Trump was only charged after repeated attempts to get the documents back and he had his lawyers falsely claim everything had been returned. It wasn't like "these documents are missing, file charges." If they have evidence of actual misrepresentations in writing (like from Trump's legal team) or if they find he's continuing to refuse to return documents, then they would charge him.
