  1. Pssh. That was a choice Guerrero made for himself. He hung out on his knees for at least 4 seconds.
  2. 100%. The tics are very distracting.
  3. You might be surprised how little stuff can affect even regular public speakers. I had a guy, good public speaker, get completely flustered when he had to speak without a lectern.
  4. I agree that not every "lower ranked guy beats higher ranked guy" is a Carvering. Carvering will not be if Franek beats Haines, it will be if like Glazier beats Brooks.
  5. Looks to me like they're going with the modern podcast set up. Feels like most current podcasts I see are the guys sitting in chairs. They do appear uncomfortable/awkward, but that can happen any time you change something you've been doing for a long time. I assume it will smooth out over the next couple of months as they get used to it.
  6. Iowa was the heavy favorite going into NCAAs because they were by far the best team, best Penn State in the dual AND beat the brakes off Penn State at Big 10s, where Penn State took 4th. They were much heavier favorites than the year they won.
  7. CP just posted on Twitter that he would expect to see Kueter vs. Kerk.
  8. He took 5th in the country last year. Considering where he started, yes, he improved greatly.
  9. Two other excellent examples I forgot. Trust me, I'm as frustrated as anyone about how Penn State has separated themselves, and I want Iowa to be back at the top, but I don't see what hire out there is likely to produce that or be any better than the Brands right now.
  10. Just from the last two years, you have Drake Ayala, Max Murin, Cobe Siebrecht, and Nelson Brands. Going back to the year before, you have Austin Desanto, Kaleb Young, Michael Kemerer, and Jacob Warner. All got undeniably better while they were in college. They won a title and were a heavy favorite for a second prior to the COVID cancellation. Are those both Penn State reload years?
  11. It won't be close, but I think there's a great shot for Glazier to keep it to a decision. Brooks is just more athletic and more technical than Glazier, a tough combination to overcome unless you have some physicality/bully to you, which Glazier doesn't really wrestle that kind of bruising style.
  12. Clearly somebody has not matriculated their way to the NWT forum.
  13. Feels like I haven't seen the BernDawg in quite a while. Hope all is well.
  14. Obviously they're not doing as well as Penn State. For the sake of this post, I'll concede development on Mizzou and NC State, even though neither team has consistently outperformed Iowa. But Ohio State? GTFOH. They have more resources than everybody, and still Iowa has better results, and there's no evidence of Tom Ryan and Co. developing athletes better than Iowa. I'd argue tOSU has underperformed what should be expected of them.
  15. I'd recommend the older stuff, but then I say that about most country music.
  16. You're just being purposely obtuse. HR2 wasn't a bipartisan piece of legislation, and couldn't even get the support of the entire R caucus. It was purposely designed not to be passed, including language to try to kill support for aukraine, a Democratic priority So "we" are not playing that game too. It's fine that you guys don't actually care about the border, I'm just glad you're fondant admitting it.
  17. You insisting that Biden could have done this before is a broken record, it's all true, as could Trump. But they didn't, and now, it's being offered. The definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face...if you actually care about the issue.
  18. The amount that you and others demand things explained to you that you could read for yourselves is staggering. The bill reshapes the asylum policy, including a mandatory border closure policy over the 5,000 person threshold. It increases the standards that people have to meet to be granted asylum while also streamlining the process of asylum claims being adjudicated. Exhibit A on the compromise (people on the left have been pushing for streamlining the process for years, as these claims right now take years to adjudicate) while people on the right have been pushing for higher standards to meet criteria for asylum. There's an increase in funding for increased detention, up to 50,000 people, which is a conservative wishlist item for years. The bill also forces the Biden administration to continue to erect border barriers beyond what they're currently required to do by previous appropriations, obviously a known Trump dream and something Biden has spoken out against. Compromise.
  19. I HAVE criticized the Democrats for how they handled abortion issue, what are you talking about? Not for "dog catching car", but for the fact they played politics on it without trying to pass any actual laws on the subject because they liked being able to use it as a political weapon.
  20. I was on a flight during the semifinals, and ESPN wasn't working for most of it, but man, managed to figure out at some point that Spencer got pinned, but I didn't see most of the semifinals.
  21. They won a team title two years ago and have taken third and second since then. People have got to stop the madness.
  22. There is not "just as much" bipartisan support for voting no. Using simple math, that's 24 out of 100. But I would guess, given the open public pressure not to pass it for political reasons, that number will grow on the Republican side. As to the text of the bill, which is by definition a compromise between the two parties, that means obviously there are things in there you won't like and things in there I won't like. That's what a compromise is. As to the actual parts of the bill, the people who are charged with actually doing the border enforcement say it's a good (but not perfect) thing, and THEY want it to pass. Stop trying to shift the argument. This is just another case of Republicans catching the car and not knowing what to do or liking it, just like the abortion debate. For months and as recently as December, they screamed that any additional support for Ukraine would have to be tied to border reform. They obviously thought Democrats would never go for it, and now they have, and they're just refusing to go ahead for openly political reasons. That may play well for the full on MAGA heads, but not with the normal people/independents, who WANT both parties to work together and compromise.
  23. RIP to Toby Keith. I didn't agree with his politics, but the man put out some BANGERS, especially early in his career before the performative patriotism became his staple. Cancer is a bitch, and it seems like the end stage of his life was rough, so I'm glad he's not in pain anymore. "How Do You Like Me Now?", "Shoulda Been a Cowboy", "Whose that Man?", "Beer for My Horses", "I Love This Bar", "As Good as I once Was", and "Whiskey Girl" are all all-timers.
