    Starocci just announced he’s coming back. Does Facundo transfer?

    18 individual national championships between the six of them. That has to be a record.

    I favor a healthy Yaz against Brooks, though I’m not sure we’ll see him in the Olympics. Brooks is an incredible wrestler, but frankly that was the worst DT we’ve seen in nearly a decade.

    Dake outclassed him last they wrestled. JB’s success against Dake is largely due to the old tournament design, where Dake had to wrestle multiple matches the same day. It’s not a coincidence that when they’ve been on even footing, Dake has been more successful.

    Taylor isn’t that far off. 1-2 more golds. Though I suspect he retires this year, win or lose, maybe even tomorrow night.

    Brooks went undefeated including a Big 10 championship and ended with a 90% bonus. He’s the Hodge winner, period.

    Brooks has been ridiculously impressive this tournament. If (big IF) he were to TF/F Hidlay, it would be one of the most impressive tournament performances I’ve seen. Who’s the last wrestler to win every match at NCAAs by fall or TF? I can’t think of anyone recently.

    I think you’re forgetting what the mindset of these kids is at 17-18 years old. Most aren’t thinking about career opportunity, debt, salary, etc. They are instead consumed with wrestling. Decisions are based on what will improve their chances of winning national and world titles. Most are overconfident and even delusional. I suspect the Ivy education is more enticing to the parents than the athletes.

    Depends on the style. I give Starocci a slight edge in folk but Brooks appears to be the better FS wrestler.

    I don’t see Penn St. losing in the next four or five years. So much talent currently and incoming.

    Any chance Zain goes 74 rather than 65? I think it’s unlikely, but he’s been at 70 for what, two+ years now? 11 lbs will be a pretty hard cut. His frame just seems small for 74.
