    Completely disagree with this. Not much point to regular season if everybody is invited. You would just devalue the accomplishment of being a national qualifier for those that have done so in the past and those that would have done so without everybody getting a pass. I haven't even addressed all of the logistical issues created with so many entrants plus many more unwatchable matches. Just hand out participation ribbons to everybody. Kumbiya!

    Recruiting is still bad at Wisconsin given the plethora of home grown top tier talent in its backyard and its inability to recruit them.

    But they paid Bono a lot more than his predecessor, so they must have cared at the time.

    Seth Gross won a title at SDSU, then transfered to Wisconsin for his last year, but COVID wiped out his chance to repeat as champ.

    Didn't UW select Bono over both Ben Askren or Damian Hahn like 6 years ago? Either Askren or Hahn would have been far better choices and the program would have been in much better shape. I'm not sure either guy would want the job if it became available, but I think either guy could get things turned around, with Askren probably more quickly as he could probably lure some AWA guys to transfer over.

    Braxton has never AA'd and if he goes to heavyweight as rumored, I think he'll have a tougher go than at 197. Also, Braxton might be a fifth year guy and there is talk he might also transfer. Without a massive haul of quality transfers, UW will be lucky to score 5 points at NCAAs next year as Zargo is only returning qualifier and he contributed just 1.5 points.

    That might be his only move left. The well has run dry for Bono and three former AAs, Wick, Gomez and apparently Hamiti now have left Wisconsin early. He might as well sign his Italian brethren to try to resurrect his program and hope they don't get themselves in trouble. What does Bono have to lose at this point? UW only returns one national qualifier and he wasn't even close to AAing. He's going to fired if he does nothing.

    Not entirely true. There has been some AWA kids at UW, but these were not big name recruits nor have they scored any NCAA points. So Askren is probably happy none of his top tier wrestlers have gone to UW and also happy some lower tier wrestlers have found a home at a Big Ten school.

    But its not that easy an analysis as if they needed more points to secure a major or tech fall, the PSU wrestlers would have wrestled differently to secure a major or tech fall. I think they probably get record under either scenario, but its open to debate.

    Is it Meyer Shap-eye-ro as Shane Sparks pronounces it or is it Meyer Shap-ee-ro as most people with that last name have it pronounced? Anyone know?

    Yeah, I did but unfortunately adding the bundle to my Verizon would cause my current Verizon promotional plan to increase and I was told it is cheaper to just pay the $10.99, which I just did.

    It looks like ESPN plus is $10.99 this year up from last year's $9.99. Are there any packages that include ESPN plus and Hulu for around same price? I also have Verizon which is an affiliated company of Disney, but not sure that will help me score a better deal.

    Didn't Bono get paid a lot of cheese to elevate the program? I thought his salary was about fifth highest when he signed on. Given what the AD paid and the bumper crop of studs from Wisconsin's backyard and Bono's inability to land any stud from Wisconsin with the lone exception of Eric Barnett during his tenure, Bono has surely been a disappointment.

    Why would you think Josh Otto is Italian? Is his mom Italian as that last name is not Italian? I also agree that Pinto is not an Italian name

    I saw that Brown got beat by Cornell 47 to -1. That caught my eye and I don't recall seeing negative points in a dual before. For you longtime college wrestling followers, has there ever been any teams that scored worse than -1?

    Men's Freestyle started about 3 hours ago. Anybody have a link to the results or brackets of this tournament for Men's Freestyle?

    I give credit to Fickell for recruiting him, but he actually signed with Northwestern and only after the Northwestern football coach was fired, did Johnson flip to Wisconsin.
