  1. If you're asking me about NDSU, none in my opinion. My point is that if in theory he's on the hot seat as another poster insinuated then he should have time to reboot the program and be able to choose his staff with autonomy....if it is all "on him".
  2. I think Coach Blanc still should get a couple of seasons to reboot. As for where his assistants fit in to the future, that's another story.
  3. Sensitive or show some class and respect to the sport you supposedly are a fan of and the competitors trying to have an experience that is in the same vain. I've been to a lot of NCAA's now and can tell you I've never seen anyone that was ever any good at the sport act that way. If shouting down other humans and degrading them is your thing, and apparently normal fun fan behavior, then by all means do it, after all, you paid your money. I will also defend your right to act that way, hey free country, party on Garth. But, it's total tool behavior. You may be in the category the OP is polling about and since you can't see it there's no point in further discussion.
  4. Shouting down participants and officials is fun to you?
  5. How about any fan that goes to any event in any sport that drinks too much and acts like a jackwagon. If you shout anyone down for any reason, ride the officials, or get out of your seat to speak to the participants you are pretty much a crap fan and are embarrassing yourself and the sport.
  6. Notable to include the support system that surrounds programs. RTC's are a big one, and the biggest prior to the mystery of NIL. I took these snapshots from @afellars01 on Twitter. I believe he FOI'd the information. The University v RTC v NIL support system tells the story of the programs as a whole. You could logically deduce that OU is a great place to coach because of the support given directly by the University. You could could also logically draw a conclusion that Oklahoma Schools are way off the mark in using multiple avenues to support their athletes and are still coaching in the 1990's. Cornell is doing more than 2.5x in budget yearly than the Oklahoma RTC. They have no scholarships, IVY League Education, and give aid on Financial need with very little NIL support. A look into this information may give you a clue as to why Cael was for NCAA regulation on NIL, he cornered the RTC market.
  7. I get you're not hating on the guy but you've made the point that "his style doesn't translate there". Supporting the fact that Admin cut ties "may have been the right move" is really a nothing point. He was there 3 seasons and it's been 8 years since he left. He was brought in under the guise of cleaning up their optics. Meanwhile they were top 10, had 10 All Americans and two National Champs under him. So his style of winning clearly doesn't fit what Oklahoma wanted. Whatever, I'll never understand what world OU fans live in and why they had to get rid of Cody. To me it just looks like over meddling alum trying to bend rules and Cody wasn't having it. I remember a bunch of them freaking out over Caldwell transferring. I guess I'm just nuts here.
  8. In 2024's current economy, paying a D1 Coach under 100,000 a year and expecting measurable success is really burying your head in the administrative sand. When Brockport listed their coach's position a few years ago, it was a stipend, like 17,000. Embarrassing for a program that has won National Titles and operates under NYS Ed Aid. Onondaga Community College in Syracuse created and listed a Coaching position for their new "programs" for an embarrassing stipend as well, which included coaching both Men's and Women's wrestling.
  9. Have you seen the 10 most expensive programs in the country per this season?
  10. Sure, if you think so. Explain one thing that has improved since they parted ways.
  11. Oklahoma has been amazing since Cody left. I'll never understand the vitriol. They hired him to clean up their program, he does that, punches through multiple AA's and NC, and he still the "worst" on this board. Regardless, when Buffalo parted ways with Beichner Buffalo consistently had guys ranked in the top 20 and competing for AA. Since Stutzman's hire, they have slowly taken a downturn. 9 guys in the portal last year, all underclassmen. Enough said. Binghamton almost shut them out this year. While I agree he was a great hire on paper coming from Bloomsburg where he was making some noise, he hasn't really done enough to warrant locking him in for another contract. Buffalo can do better with the right hire.
  12. Tough to evaluate a Head Coach on just finish alone as many have pointed out, but the big picture or culmination of a lot of things could prove a critical look at the program and if a change is needed. 1. Recruiting: losing the best kids on the bus to PSU, period. PSU does a great job but process of development is much easier when you start with the best. Iowa got Lee, and he did as expected. They need to land more straight up ready made products and not lose them to other schools, specifically PSU and tOSU. 2. Development: I think they are on par with the best in this area. They produce "surprises" on the national scene every year, maybe not to Iowa homers, but to the rest of the country. They are starting at the middle and bringing guys into the conversation. I see Arnold being a great example of this in the next few years as one of the few top recruits landed that I believe will perform to the expectations. 3. NIL: Mixed. Early in the game but they are getting mileage out of these transfers. Caliendo, Franek, and Woods all placed and met at the very least minimum expectations. 4. Institutional Control: They've had a rough couple of years. The gambling thing is a joke for sure but still a rule and they got whacked. Call it what you want, it is a negative knock. Actively recruiting the Ferraris and all that comes with it. AJ is what he is and bringing in Angelo cost them arguably their best recruit in Chittum to their direct instate rival. Again, they went all in on the gamble and until proven otherwise they are in the loss column on this. 5. Stale wrestling: They have become a garden variety B10 product and aren't all that exciting to watch. Other than Caliendo and Kennedy they really don't wrestle that offensively consistent against the best competition. Since they limit their exposure as well, it seems to continually cost them. 6. RTC: Yikes. Taken some real hits here. Next few weeks a great opportunity to change this. Who do you replace him with? Hawkeye wrestling nation embraces their own so it isn't that easy to bring in someone outside that will put an entirely new face on the sport for them. Being in the top 5 consistently and winning in recent years makes it difficult to toss him. Don't see a change coming soon but the conversation is warranted.
  13. Oklahoma is a career killer now. They can’t figure out what they are. Hired Mark Cody to clean the program up then ousted him for doing it. He had consistent AA’s and a National Champ. Then they did Roselli dirty as well. Good luck whoever goes there.
