  1. You have been.. not exactly salty.. but pretty chippy and defensive as of late… why is that
  2. Oh I understood your point pretty clearly. all of it. Not just what I addressed. St. Louis ain’t Chicago or nyc blue.. Leaving all that aside, getting mad that the best places to host are where there are actually people is just.. something
  3. Calm down. Big venues/events need the appropriate facilities and environment. NCAAs is a social event for the wrestling community.. not just a wrestling tournament. Many people get to see other people they haven’t seen or talked to in a long time. It being an “event” is what makes it special. Wanting a location with adequate much less actually good.. and most importantly.. ENOUGH hotels, bars, and food venues.. isn’t “dissing” on blue collar republican America the way you’re trying to say.. especially because Ohio and Missouri aren’t what one would call “blue” states…. and everyone was happy with those venues.
  4. Quality of competition… As far as the thread.. college coaches have told me they mainly look at national results from super 32 and Fargo and then what coaches they trust/or who wrestled in college say about the kid. They only really care about state results from 3A Illinois, D1 Ohio, big school pa, cali, jersey one coach flat out said any other state titles are just indicators and they need to see national results
  5. I’ve found that if you really want to get into a kids head. Use that story. It works irregardless irrespective of background
  6. Feel that. People ask how many I’ve had.. I’m always like ummm idk. Trained through a lot
  7. I got one right now because idiots don’t listen. Had too many in hs/college. My pity for coaches who don’t handle them correctly is zero
  8. You know as well as I do people, including on this thread and in the past argue often against Changing the rules… stop being pedantic because you want to ignore my actual point
  9. That played a small role. The bigger role was not being proactive about rule changes and getting their guys into admin and going after tv deals. Football and basketball college and pro. Did not magically take over. They made strategic decisions. Hell, even now with the changes with NIL and college sports. Football Coaches are much more proactive and actively looking at the risks to their sport in a much more long term and pragmatic way than wrestling does.
  10. To those saying and thinking “we should have never changed the rules…” part of why wrestling fell behind us other sports stayed ahead and were proactive
  11. It was already said Smith was planning on retiring after this year.. wonder if he was telling the truth
  12. The normal mix of sweet- do it eh - why though ew
  13. Starocci vs. Labriola https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVsFpJZC-pk
  14. Discovered this new channel. Want to give them a shoutout. He breaks down the matches, strategy, technique etc. Very well done. Arujau vs. Fix breakdown There are many others It is analysis so it falls under fair use btw
  15. I’m honestly both bemused and disappointed with the people I see defending or justifying potentially getting the family involved at Iowa
  16. Monday was interviewed in the early rounds. He’s got 20 something committed and has been overwhelmed by how many are reaching out or want to help
