They (OKST) changed things up a bit. It has to be hard for coaches like Smith and Brands to change. The way they did things worked. I'm sure they believed the next season would be better and before you know it, ten/twenty years have passed them by. Cael hasn't had that. He is the new way of doing things. OKST have been great this season. I believe it has more to do with who is has come than who has gone. Brands and Iowa need a change. But, Brands has to realize it and make it happen or someone higher up has to insist it. That had to be what happened with Smith, one or the other. Even if he knows he's retiring soon, he's made a conscious decision to change up. And so far, so good. Just my thoughts. If I knew anything, I'd be rich...

The sixties is what made the seventies. @WrestlingRasta touched on it in his post. The door was cracked and Rock n Roll, R&B and singer/songwriters kicked it wide open and changed it all.

Michael and Jeff Shaara, Historical fiction. All of their American Revolution, Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War books. Great books. I've read plenty of Civil War books that are only history and they get kind of dry after awhile. I read constantly. Mostly war history, biographies/autobiographies, from Teddy Roosevelt to Jerry Garcia. The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara is where I began thirty years ago. If I have to choose one book to recommend, it's this one.
