  1. McKee and Howard wrestled at Whos#1. McKee will be a 6 year senior and Howard a Freshman.
  2. It sounds like OU and NDSU will both be worse off as a result of the changes, at least in the near term.
  3. Willie thinks Wisconsin, now, for Fugitt and Dylan Russo.
  4. I wonder if any of the other Oklahoma wrestlers have been released from their NLI.
  5. SDSU would make sense, with his cousin there and the Ag programs. I think Tanner Cook has a redshirt year he could use.
  6. He knocked Sean Bormet out of NCAAs (1991 158 lbs) in the blood round.
  7. He should have used this oldy but goody... Q: Where do you keep your money in an old ski town? A: The snow bank.
  8. If one was so inclined, how would a person make a large sports bet on behalf of a PSU student athlete? Asking for a friend.
  9. What's the over under on starters missing from this dual due to NCAA gambling violations?
  10. I think he may have only been one year older than normal, but has the distinction of competing in 7 high school seasons.
  11. The median salary will be lot less than the average. The fat tails like Sanderson and Brands skew the average up.
  12. NCAA doing a flex to show people that they still exist.
  13. I'm big on Ethan Riddle at 174. He has a really good improvement curve over the last year. When Millard committed, he said he would probably be 157 or maybe 165 if he grows. Lyden has battled injuries, so hard to say where he'll be when and if healthy.
  14. Homegrown only by state boundaries. He lives much closer to U of MN than Madison and has trained with the Gopher RTC and Pinnacle club for years.
  15. That's some good unbiased journalism right there.
  16. If so, I hope that at some point, these will be required to be made public. Will teams need to have new recruits out of high school to sign a contract (beyond typical NLI) to prevent poaching?
  17. What's interesting is that Teske was ranked higher then Nagao all season, until March (by Flo). I don't think he was above around 15 until March. One good post-season will get you offers I guess. I have to wonder how guaranteed these cash offers are if injuries, or drop in performance occurs? Is the entire "bag" paid upfront or is part of it contingent on results?
  18. I find that wealthy donors are willing to shell out this amount of money with no potential for Return of Investment, very John DuPont-ish.
  19. Actually U20 freestyle last year. 65 kg Quarters - Cody Chittum, Greco-Roman Development vs Tagen Jamison, Texas Pride Wrestling Club (flowrestling.org)
  20. Gable last year and Blockhus this year both graduated, so would need to enter a Masters program to wrestle at the U. Gable is considering wrestling next year and Blockhus would have stayed if needed, but the Gophers are high on Vance Vombaur, Tagen Jamison, and Drew Roberts to fill 141-149 next year. These 3 have all been slowed by injuries but have also each had big wins.
  21. No. Twenty percent of the population of Minnesota is named Nelson, ya know.
  22. Max is going 184 in college. He only weighs 190. When he won his world medal last year he was like 13 pounds underweight.
  23. The covid year doesn't count as part of the eligibility clock. So, everyone who was in school then has a 6 year clock instead of the normal 5. Some, like Taylor Lamont just completed their 7th year because of an additional medical shirt.
  24. New Flo article on Hopke's Recruitment. Hard to find better practice partners than Minnesota with McEnelly and Nelson coming in, plus Brandvold and the last two world teamers Zillmer and Steveson. When Will Koy Hopke Make His College Commitment? - FloWrestling He is listed as 6'2" in his football profiles and weighed in at 229 the day he wrestled Schunke.
