  1. So they finally get a scoreboard, but no score. baby steps, I guess.
  2. Speaking of Ryan, he mentioned the lack of a national dual championship. Why can't they have the top 4 teams face off on one weekend? How is that hard?
  3. I think Ryan said that Wilcox is wrestling.
  4. Interesting. But the good thing about (most) class actions is you don't have to join. You are in unless you opt out.
  5. Flo says you cancel at any time. But they also say it's an annual subscription. Has anyone cancelled a Flo account and do they really stop billing?
  6. Stanford has not really progressed under Koll. That's surprising-- at least to me.
  7. Kareem has an article that's well worth reading about Lebron breaking his record. https://kareem.substack.com/p/what-i-think-about-lebron-breaking?mibextid=q5o4bk&fbclid=IwAR1myW2Ep1AC6a-ECR1srtfUe4av0KcJa0QnS_xNEzzlCeO9eG7wTkVGMD8 I mention it here because Kareem includes a long quotation from the wrestling movie, "Vision Quest." The irony is, the quotation is about another GOAT, but from soccer, not wrestling (or basketball). Here it is: For me, the inspirational power of sports is best explained in a scene in the 1985 film Vision Quest. In it, Elmo, an aging fry cook at a hotel, explains: That is the magic of sports. To see something seemingly impossible, reminding us that if one person can do it, then we all somehow share in that achievement.
  8. Only the first post was stupid and maybe the third (no offense).
  9. Yes, any good discussion forum would be better with censorship.
  10. Wrong. The NCAA just announced the standing for its "most dominant wrestler" award. https://www.ncaa.com/news/wrestling/article/2023-02-08/ncaa-debuts-most-dominant-wrestler-standings-latest-award-update-2023-season Lee is not listed, I guess b/c the NCAA has a 15-match minimum.
  11. Did Uetake win 4 titles? I was thinking second best to Cael.
  12. Arguably, Yianni is the second best ever, Hodge or no Hodge. Fewer losses than Dake, Stieber, Smith or Lee.
  13. Is that really true? Who are they?
  14. I never said it was a lock or a rule. I said that that is how it should and likely will go down. Also, every 4X champ has won the Hodge, except for Smith, who pre-dated the award. Of course, they were also undefeated.
  15. As I said, an undefeated Lee is a lock. A one-loss, NCAA champ Lee may share w/ Yianni. But Yianni will beat undefeated guys and win if Lee does not win the NCAAs. There is no rule that says the Hodge winner must be undefeated.
  16. Nonsense. If he is 4-timer, he should get it or at least share it. If Spencer does not win a title, he should win it outright.
  17. That's not what I was asking about. The NCAA itself (at least I recall it being by the NCAA) had a single "most dominant" list. It was basically calculated by the mots team points per match.
  18. BTW, what happened to the "most dominant" ranking? Is it gone?
  19. Too bad this thread got hijacked, but back to Nahshon for a second. This might be dumb to say about an NCAA champ, but it never seemed to me like he was fanatically interested in wrestling. Thus I am surprised he is on the freestyle circuit. Can he make a living doing it? A good living? Against ADS, he had 5 takedowns or maybe 4, including 2 easy ones right off the whistle. How do you lose while getting 5 takedowns?
  20. Don't know what happened with that match. But in general BTN is orders of magnitude better than Flo.
  21. What's an "NIL violation"? Is it when a kid is really being paid to play for a school, but it's dressed up as a payment for his NIL?
