  1. One of the differences Summers pointed out in the inflation calculation is that in the ‘70s and ‘80s was that they included the interest on house and auto payments, now they don’t. Just like the job numbers, the GDP estimates, virtually everything the government puts out is smoke and mirrors.
  2. Thanks to videos it’s well recognized that many of the people at the protests in the U.S. don’t know what they are protesting, or why. They, like you, wouldn’t last long in Gaza.
  3. Larry Summers recently explained that if inflation was still calculated the same way it was in the ‘70s, it would be double what is reported.
  4. It’s been reported that the reason Hamas won’t show or release the female hostages is because most of them are pregnant.
  5. David Burge & @iowahawkblog End occupation and colonialism now, give Columbia U back to the Lenape tribe and let them turn it into a casino 11:01 AM • Apr 22, 2024 • 331.7K Views
  6. Do you think they will fare better than the folks who protest our government giving money to Hamas to commit war crimes and genocide?
  7. The “Death to Israel” and “Death to America” banners will be of most interest.
  8. Howard Husock John Silber, the Campuses Have Need of You In the 1980s, the late Boston University president showed willingness both to engage with protesters’ arguments and to impose consequences on their actions. https://www.city-journal.org/person/howard-husock
  9. Operation Wetback was conducted during the Eisenhower administration. Tell me you don’t know what you’re talking about without telling me you don’t know what you’re talking about.
  10. $20 an hour is going to cost the employer maybe $60k per year. Can he cover his costs?
  11. I’d say they’re only helping to reveal another insidious faction within the dimocrat party.
  12. I’ve already invested all I want to in hot water heaters. Coal and gas plants are better situated to prosper as wind and solar fail. Geothermal sounds like a potential solution for areas that don’t have coal or gas, but it hasn’t been proven economically competitive where those are available. Who knows, it may be geothermal that saves us when the sun burns out.
  13. The IDF had a dilemma deciding how to respond to Iran's attack because while there are no Walmarts in Iran, there’s a Target on every corner.
  14. The first I heard of these residential applications was when it was reported that GW Bush had installed the system in his ranch house and therefore consumed much less energy than AlGore’s mansion in Tennessee. But the system described in mspart’s link is described as using the hot water to turn turbines, Maybe I don’t understand it though.
  15. Can it generate electricity cheaper than coal or natural gas? Or nuclear?
  16. Some poor souls would be a lot safer and happier if they leave the cooking to someone else.
  17. While congressional offices were probably not intended to be career positions, the power to limit their tenure is still in the vote. We need to change much more about how our government has devolved than just which greedy face occupies the office. Lobbyists, congressional staffers, and unelected bureaucrats throughout the executive agencies are unaccountable to the electorate and seemingly immune from prosecution. The Swamp, that blackmails, coerces, bribes, and sabotages the efforts of good governance is a larger problem and would be unaffected by, and possibly even benefit from, term limits.
