  1. As there is with most situations, there’s a lot more nuance to what has been going on with Lee than what should be shared on a forum. A change of scenery is not a bad outcome here for both parties. I wish Brayton Lee luck no matter where he goes or what he does in life. Great person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think matching money will be very difficult Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Last week at this time I thought the Gable to Iowa rumors were silly. Now, not so much… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. This is one of the best takes I’ve seen on this issue not just in this forum but anywhere. Surprised we do not see it more. Relatively small adjustment that could go a long way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I am of the opinion that the Supreme Court is probably right in that the Biden admin way overstepped in pushing this plan out. However, I agree that it is a little confusing the reaction this plan got from those that sit in silence when big banks, big farmers, big airlines etc. get government bailouts by taxpayer money in the same way. Why is the average student loan payer held to a higher standard? I also think it’s a terrible long-term outlook for our countries economy to have over a trillion dollars in student loan debt. For many, this will never be paid off and is financially crippling. This fact is bad for all of us, and something should probably be done other than “you made your bed when you were 17 now lie in it”. I’m not sure this blanket forgiveness plan was the right thing. I think there are more nuanced answers than that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Multiple freaky different injuries really took a toll on crucial developmental years for him. I think and hope he can still be a plus starter, but I am in the minority that I don’t think he’s big enough to be a 174. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My prediction is Lyden 165 Skillings 174, with Sparks backing up Lyden and Wasley backing up Skillings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I’d be shocked if 157 is a possibility for Carlson. Remains to be seen if Sparks is actually moving up, but the bigger reason Carlson is leaving I think is because neither him or Sparks can beat redshirt freshman Hunter Lyden. I was really hoping NDSU for Carlson. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Patrick Kennedy ain’t leaving Iowa. He’s been a Hawkeye since he could walk. They’ll make the lineup work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. They’ve not done as well, obviously. We’re talking about Gable though, aren’t we? I actually think Eggum and co. Have proven to be pretty good at development. Getting an AA out of Jake Bergeland, who wasn’t ranked in the top 150 in his class as a recruit, turning similarly unranked recruits like Bailee O’Reilly, Garrett Joles, Jake Gliva and Cael Carlson into respectable big ten wrestlers, etc. There haven’t been a ton of highly ranked guys that have come here and flopped since Eggum really took over. It’s the recruiting/retaining department they’ve sucked at. We know this, but it’s not the topic of discussion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Fellow world teamer Hayden Zillmer and NCAA champ Tony Nelson count as someone, I’d think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. On that note, he is still training in Minnesota and has been as recently as yesterday. I imagine it would be a little awkward if everyone there knew he was negotiating with Iowa Boosters on his new contract(s) while training in the gopher room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. They’ve done alright by him so far, I think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. If Steveson? If Steveson what? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think flip Kennedy and Caliendo and you nailed it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Well, as an NDSU alumn/fan and gopher fan, that hurts a little (a lot) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Robideau, Burkett, and a top 125 prospect? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Not necessarily rising, but kind of forgotten about because he stopped wrestling national tournaments due to family reasons and committed to D2 St. Cloud state. He’s now flipped to the gophers and will push for a starting spot instantly at 133. Was 164-1 in high school and took third at Fargo in 2021. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Tyler Wells- Princeton MN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I am surprised that you are surprised that I do not know Richard Figueroa’s plans for beyond college. I was merely making the elite recruit riding the bench connection. Apparently I am less perceptive of the inner workings of ASU’s roster than the rest of this board and I will not make that mistake again. Thank you for making me delve deeper into my arsenal of snappy comebacks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I am of the opinion that especially in todays current NIL/transfer climate, high level recruits such as Fugitt and Seltzer do not even want to consider wrestling less than 4 NCAA tournaments in their careers. Fugitt has a wide open path to that at Wisconsin. I’m also shocked Arizona State was able to keep Richie Figueroa on the team beyond his redshirt year for this reason. Can’t believe someone as talented as him was willing to wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Did he have a clear path to start at least three years? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Stephen Little has been super impressive this off-season at freestyle tournaments as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. AWA guy from Wisconsin, Willie has him ranked in the low 100’s in his class of 2023 big board. Committed to Minnesota in August of 2022 and has really kinda taken off since then. He looked like he belonged in this bracket much more than I expected. Could be a legit option at 174 leading up to McEnelly, Nelson, Hopke Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I hope people aren’t down on the Obe hire. As an Alum, who had a sibling wrestle for Kish, I am certainly happy with the hire. I think people aren’t used to the “open season” mentality that comes with D1 coaching changes at this stage in the game. If a coach leaves for a bigger job, the poachers will surely come out. Blanc was screwed from the beginning. He deserves time and I hope he gets it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
