Everyone will know after next football season where Keuter will fall. If he is a legit football prospect all of the two-sport praise will end, and Ferentz will say decide. If he is in the football plans beyond special teams they will need him 100% focused. I am also of the why save redshirts especially now the way they give out extra medical years.

Over/Under on Ferraris in Iowa's lineup for B10's: 1.5
JeanGuy replied to 1032004's topic in College Wrestling
I'm all for giving guys a second chance but I would struggle to knowingly bring a predator onto a college campus. Guys make a lot of mistakes when they are young (drinking, fighting, etc.) but being predatory towards anyone just isn't acceptable. I know the criminal charges were dismissed but something happened that wasn't good. Hopefully if he comes back he will be a better version of himself. -
It is pretty amazing that Nico is still at or near world class being only a part time wrestler.

Hmmm. I don't know what that means now. You are scoring (or not) team points but you remain in RS. This is YUGE. Let the debates begin.

Right now, nobody knows if he can play NCAA football or if he is a high-level NCAA wrestler. There have been many great athletes not be able to make that jump let alone the jump to NFL or International Sr. Level wrestling. Kid seems to be a great prospect in both, and it will be fun to watch his progress.

At the time I found his whole retirement tour kind of odd. Where does he slot....that is a tough one for me. He is clearly dominant but in his own way. I do think he could be a pinner but he doesn't seem interested in doing so. I am not sure why that is but it seems to be. I wonder if was because there was never any team goals for him. I think all of your three timers you could throw a blanket over they are that close.

new 3 point takedown....get ready to see tons of tech falls?
JeanGuy replied to Bardamu911's topic in College Wrestling
I really don't think it will change how anyone wrestles. I watch FS and guys get put on the passivity clock and it doesn't change the way they wrestle. They just realize they are giving up a point. Active guys will be active and guys that counter will still counter. Guys that are passive will continue to be passive. If a guy can take someone down seven times to none I have no problem with it being a tech a fall instead of 14-6. -
As someone that grew up 2.5 miles from Whiskey Point, I am willing to defend the site.

You forgot to mention what a PSU homer you are but...

Nothing happened to her. In this day and age if you do something like she did on film you are going to be a meme. If you react right it goes away. Is she really so damaged that she can't go to a wrestling match/tournament? I mean I saw it and thought it was funny do no big deal in the grand scheme of things. If the Lee's want to portray her as some great victim, it will only grow the incident. To try to tie that to Spencer having to leave America to save his family is lame. It is just such a nothing story. Just my opinion but I have also been told I am absolutely heartless and have no feelings.

I'm not convinced Spencer would've been any healthier at PSU
JeanGuy replied to 1032004's topic in College Wrestling
The only argument I could see is he could have sat his true Freshman year and started the next year "healthy." You could argue that he would have wrestled at PSU his true freshman year as well and while that is true, I think he had to at Iowa. So much hyperbole and there is no way to know. He had a great NCAA career and like so many didn't get the 4. -
The next step in Cael's plan to destroy college wrestling
JeanGuy replied to Theo Brixton's topic in College Wrestling
See I think dynasties in general are good for sports. It gets viewers to tune in to see if Tiger can do it again and it also gets the people to tune in that want to see him lose just as much. It was like watching Spencer Lee this year, half wanted him to be a four timer and half wanted someone to get him. Wrestling will always be a niche sport but I think this can activate the fans the most. -
I hate anything that makes reffing more subjective. I know the whole stalling thing is that way. Reversals are in a weird spot. I think it is harder to score a reversal than an escape and takedown but you are better off with an escape then a takedown. I would like to see the Warner ride addressed. I series of 15 second rides with push outs should not be awarded with a point, but then you are back to is it a push out or the bottom guy running out. Either way too many restarts. I would like to see mat wrestling remain but I am not sure how you can have it and have it regulated correctly.

It is funny because around Penn State NIL is becoming a pretty big controversy. It was cited as the reason that Micah Shrewsberry left for Notre Dame. James Franklin has said that Penn State is years behind tOSU and Michigan as well as others in this category. What does this mean for wrestling, I don't know but I do know it is a pretty hot topic around Penn State supporting sports other than football.

Lee was a very dominant 125 lber. I personally don't know how you rank guys versus others. Many Penn State Fans don't even have Ruth in their top 5. They rank Taylor over him. We will always see greats come and go. The idea that there will never be someone as dominant as Spencer Lee just doesn't hold water. He is in a group that is as good as you can imagine with a lot of other guys.

If brooks and Starroci win 4 titles
JeanGuy replied to Wrestlingfan2254's topic in College Wrestling
Ed Ruth as 7. Boy are you tough. 3-timer with a 3rd place finish. 3 career losses. 76% bonus rate for 46 career pins. What a ham and egger. -
Can Levi Haines realistically win NCAAs this year?
JeanGuy replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
This would be a place that the freestyle rule would be helpful.
