  1. You are off-base on everything you posted here except the opening to your initial statement. Rankings are not ratings or projections or predictions. You can only rank based off of results that actually happen(ed) and at some point you have to have a cutoff insofar as time limit since last competition. If John Smith were to retire from OSU to venture back in to the International MFS forray you couldn't just rank him #1 at 61 KG right now simply because he rattled off a ridiculous amount of championships a few years back. You may disagree with the time cutoff, but he puts the work in and follows some sort of code that they have sworn to uphold. If he weren't following that, I don't think he would be doing them. He holds himself to a higher standard than anybody on these forums possibly could. Edit: Sorry if that seemed direct or harsh towards you, I was just piping up in defense of Kozak. The guy is a gem both in his field of expertise (wrestling journalism) and ethically.
  2. Amine beat Hall at the Matman Open (Midlands Replacement).
  3. 251 and change at B1Gs. Year before he was 241 at the Collegiate Duals. He trimmed down quick after his frosh year. It was something like 30lbs in three months. There was a video leading up to his U23 Gold of him at 232 and ripped/jacked. My guess is he felt his power advantage diminish against the 255lb+ Kerk, so he wanted to add some size back or just didn't feel the need to be so light.
  4. Pickle and balls? This ain't prawnhub, mate.
  5. Last year's People's Champion at 197 Nino Bonaccorsi lost to Max Dean, AJ Focus, and Drew Foster. Ryan Deakin lost to Jason Nolf, Jason Tsirtsis, and Zain Retherford. Vincenzo Joseph lost to Isaiah Martinez, Mekhi Lewis, and Alex Marine...ever mind. Just two. Bernie Truax could be up there if he closes the deal this year. 2020 #1 Seed at 184lbs, Taylor Lujan, had losses to Mark Hall, Zahid Valencia, Trent Hidlay (potential this year if Brooks is/goes down). 2020 #1 Seed at 197, and favorite to win it Kollin Moore, had losses to Bo Nickal, Mike Macchiavello, Anthony Cassar, J'den Cox, and Brett Favre.
  6. 2020 #1 Seed at 133lbs, Sebastian Rivera, lost to Nick Lee, Seth Gross, Nathan Tomasella, Darian Cruz, Spencer Lee, and Nick Suriano. That would have been six (potentially).
  7. Honestly, I think it prudent to adjust the NCAA weights to mirror the MFS and MGR weights as well as possible adjust high school to match. Add in the three bottom Cadet weights and we have an odd number that will make things quite simple in tie-breakers. Criteria: 1 - Matches Won (Best) - Could be total matches, matches won via pin then tech then major, etc. KISS it, I say - matches won (this would include forfeits). It would only go past this if there is a double forfeit. 2 - Who has the least amount team penalties (worst) - this could include unsportsmanlike during the matches, too... keep gents on their best toes or a simple as ensuring nobody is DQ'd in a match due to unsportsmanlike. This would only go past this if (when) both teams have no penalties. 3 - Who won the final match (last) - If delving in to #1 insofar as via pin then tech then major, etc - this could also be done the same way. Meaning whoever won the last pin then tech then major then decision. Weights: 45 KG or 99lbs 48 KG or 105lbs 51 KG or 112lbs 55 KG or 121lbs 60 KG or 132lbs 65 KG or 143lbs 70 KG or 154lbs 75 KG or 165lbs 80 KG or 176lbs 85 KG or 187lbs 90 KG or 198lbs 100 KG or 220lbs 130 KG or 286lbs Also drop the bottom three weights and you have your new NCAA weights.
  8. Michigan was using the 1996 weights until last year too, right?
  9. Gross lost to Shnaulty, Heil, Clark, and 2020 #1 Seed Rivera.
  10. Honorable mention to RBY? Arujau, Gross, amd 2020 #1 Seed in Rivera?
  11. You think Morgan Smith and Duncan Lee have a good chance to beat him?
  12. Here is how I have the current crop of 97 KG gents tiered... and mind you it might be a bit 'off' but some of these guys are roofers... and some is speculation due to them not having much in results at the weight. Also a disclaimer, these aren't rankings or projections. The way I do my tiers (most know) is that I wouldn't be surprised to see someone defeat someone a tier above them or a tier below them. Tier 1 Kollin Moore, Ohio - Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) Tier 2 Nathan Jackson, New Jersey - New York Athletic Club Tier 3 Eric Schultz, Illinois - Nebraska Wrestling Training Center Jonathan Aiello, Virginia - Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) Jacob Warner, Iowa - Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) Anthony Cassioppi, Illinois - Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) Tier 4 Timothy Dudley, South Carolina - Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club Lou DePrez, New York - Bearcat Wrestling Club Tier 5 Tyrie Houghton, North Carolina - Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) Morgan Smith, Washington - Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (TMWC) Cole Mirasola, Wisconsin - Askren Wrestling Academy Duncan Lee, Iowa - Cyclone Regional Training Center C-RTC Other Entries Eulogio Rosino Dalmeida, Nebraska Austin Craig, Washington - 10 Year Active Athlete List Eric Gamble, Pennsylvania Sterling Hecox, Illinois
  13. He legitimately went to a tournament with a bunch of backups the next day. Why not educate @JimmyBTinstead of instantly attacking him?
  14. Rumor that Kerkvliet was also considering it as well, I believe.
  15. I was also thinking Steed might be sort of like Jacques was for O'Toole. A guy to make him go up early, then he just fills out and stays there.
  16. 74 KG it is then, bud. No 70 KG as Senior Nationals this year. Only olympic weights.
  17. I know. Is that not par for the course - especially on their High School bit? They'll change next year maybe?
  18. O'Toole was a 152lber in high school too, wasn't he? I remember him taking it to one of those former OSU boys at 152... the one that went to Northern Colorado? Travis Mastrogiovani?
  19. You have weight to lose, bud, don't you? Weight classes exist for a reason. I competed at 134 because even if I was able to train with Joe up at 158 there was no way in hell I was going to be able to wrestle those animals night-in, night-out and not come away with some serious injuries.
  20. lol Twatter living up to it's name today. A lot of gold there the last 24H.
  21. Brooks was a separate issue, I believe. I am all for the peanut gallery and tinfoil hat guys with this one. Personally, I think that Cael might have been giving Beard his time at Rec Hall. All for it, too.
