  1. Michigan 133/141 IF Cannon does not transfer out, which is a large if, one of him, Ragusin, or Lemley will need to sit (or Redshirt). 149/157/165 Gilcher, Mantanona(x2), Mattin, Cooper, and Gates are all top tier potential talents and two of them will ride pine unless one shrinks down (while growing) or grows in to 174lbs. I wouldn't be surprised to see it be 149 - Gates, 157 - Gilcher, 165/174 - Mantanona (x2) in two years, but they need to get there first. That seemingly leaves Cooper the odd man out? Not sure. Gates might be. Also, Lemley might grow more (or perhaps he heads back down to 133...? Not sure). 197/285 You have Walters and Jenkins right now for 285, even if Walters is a 197lber - Cardenas is there. Next year there will be Walters, Jenkins, Veazy, Sahakian, and Correa in the 197/285 range. I had said before, and I will reiterate: Veazy needs to plan on descending towards 184lbs now if he wants a spot. One of Walters, Sahakian, and Correa will not be starting. These are all not taking the portal in to account.
  2. Parris vs Batirmurzaev for Gold. Parris beat him 11-0 at Worlds last year. Batirmurzaev was up 4-2 when he pinned Geno, FWIW. He is capable of beating Parris. He was up on Zare a couple years ago before he CRASHED 21-10 (yeah it's a football score...). https://uww.org/athletes-results/batirmurzaev-yusup-2958-profile
  3. Nah bro. OP was about best at each weight, wasn't it? Even if the thread title was not.
  4. Carter is going 197lbs unless something happens to Barr that makes it so he can't wrestle.
  5. It does when the gap is as wide as Steveson showed it was and it is utilized as effectively as it was.
  6. I think Bouzakis holds 133 and Davino redshirts in an effort to go up to 141lbs.
  7. Being as an actual victory by one over the other in this discussion happened, it should be taken in to consideration, yeah?
  8. Horsepower also has a lot to do with it as well. 97 KG is just over 16lbs heavier than 197lbs. Adding an additional 16lbs to that frame is a lot. Actually, a more accurate statement would be that losing an additional 16lbs off of his already very lean 97 KG (~213lbs) frame is a detriment to his peak performance capabilities. This confused me so hard for about twelve seconds. I was like "HFS he wrestled Nico?!"
  9. Dake should also get credit for winning his fourth NC, even if the previous three were at lesser weights. There isn't a 165lber since he was a 165lber that would beat him in an actual match. That should count as should ability. Career at 165? Okay you can give it to someone else, but saying someone else is a better 165lber is categorically wrong.
  10. The weight class is the weight class. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, despite Steveson having more dominant seasons against better competition because he lacked size shouldn't be a consideration when talking 'Best HWT Ever' in collegiate wrestling. The weight class is 285lbs, not 285lbs* (with an asterisk meaning that if you are a smaller heavyweight you get more benefits of the doubt).
  11. I am not disagreeing at all, what I am saying is that Snyder lost his senior season and had many competitive matches. Steveson didn't have any competitive matches his senior year or his junior year. He did his soph season, but so did Snyder. Steveson had a good percentage higher bonus rate than Snyder as well.
  12. Kerk was exposed against Gwiazdowski in that Gwiazdowski showed that Kerk cannot chain wrestle. I don't know if anyone can expose that in the Collegiate Folkstyle scene.
  13. I am pretty sure Dake should be on the 74 KG list at this point. He has Benjamin Buttoned himself to an age so young that he is actually older than the United States is. Ergo, he is now representing a country different than the one he should be. I believe that would put him to be of Onondaga descent? We could just call him Iroquois, I guess? I think that would be pretty insensitive to just 'lump' him in as Iroquois, though.
  14. In which he lost his senior season to a guy who never won a title, then scraped by him two other times after that.
