  1. Agree. Ray Flores sounds like a Howard Cosell wannabe. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I can go on Thursday, I won't be able to join until 9:30p EST. (I'm in Las Vegas - Pacific time zone) I'll setup the draft board after brackets are released on Wednesday. Each of the participants need to send their email address to me via PM, so they can view / have access to the board during the draft.
  3. I'm sure we can work something out. When do you leave... any chance you'd be able to connect while in London? The time change may work in your favor.
  4. That's OK... I'll assign my 13-yo daughter to be your proxy!
  5. You've got that right, @lightweight! The "Coffee Grinder" banter has been going on for at least 3-4 weeks. Gibbons continually attempts to correct Sparks, but Shane doesn't know when to let it go.
  6. Looked it up. He was 28 when he made AA. https://www.deseret.com/2011/10/7/20221325/about-utah-utahn-grappling-for-olympic-chance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Not the oldest ever, but Ben Kjar is a relatively recent AA who was long in the tooth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Naming wrestling moves: Stop trying to rename a "head lever" as a "coffee grinder" Don't ridicule Jim Gibbons when he correctly identifies someone using a "Gizoni", when it's an actual move named after a Hall of Fame wrestler. https://nwhof.org/hall_of_fame/bio/4086
  9. If the B1G commentators are correct, Spencer Lee will hit 100 if he places 1st or 3rd at NCAA. If he places 1st, he'll also finish with a 60-match winning streak.
  10. Brackets come out Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday evening may be too soon to build the draft board. I suggest we firm up participants by the end of this week and shoot for a draft over the weekend or early next week. Best days for me would be Monday or Tuesday.
  11. Connor McGonagle, 133. Blew out his knee in the first minute of his EIWA QF. Admittedly, he likely won't be able to compete at NCAA... but at least give the guy the honor of being recognized as a National Qualifier and then flip the spot to an alternate.
  12. Keep in mind they did the regular season play-by-play and color commentary remotely. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Monday, March 6th. It's all in the Pre-Championships Manual (page 13): https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/championships/sports/wrestling/d1/men/2022-23D1MWR_PreChampsManual.pdf
  14. RPI is 10%. Coaches Rank is 15%. What I posted was the most recent Coaches Rank, which had an six-position gap between Franek and Haines. That’s why I suggest the updated ranking will drive where Haines lands. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Depends on how much Haines jumps in coaches rank. They were pretty even in RPI. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Humphreys is now 16-0 and is now eligible for an RPI. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. 1. AOC (unbeaten ACC champ) 2. Humphreys (unbeaten EIWA champ) 3. Franek (one loss Big12 champ) 4. Haines (one loss B1G champ) 5. Robb (one loss B1G runner up) 6. Cardenas (one loss PAC-12 champ) 7. Andonian (ACC runner up) 8. Scott or Gfeller (ACC 3rd / Big12 runner up) I think Humphreys & Franek are a coin flip for #2 & #3. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Russia should sit out at least one cycle for their repeated systemic PED transgressions. The most recent Winter Games showed the weakness of a ban that allows athletes the compete under an ROC pseudonym. Hostile aggression only solidifies the reason to ban them. The sports world had no problem banning South Africa from the Olympics between 1964-1988 due to apartheid. I don’t understand why Russia gets a pass. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Ah yes... the Ivy Mob. Why don't we just bring back the days of conference Wild Card bids and back room deliberations about who gets the final few spots to go to NCAAs?
  20. Spencer chased Gilman out of Iowa, and he's still running away.
  21. My understanding (from a Gimp post on the Lehigh forum) is that those seeds held form (Zapf #1, Yianni #2). Flo Arena still shows it that way, which he updates. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. It would impact his NCAA seed. Conference tourney placement has a 10% contribution in the formula. Head-to-head competition — 25 percent Quality wins — 20 percent Coaches Ranking — 15 percent Results against common opponents — 10 percent RPI — 10 percent Qualifying event placement — 10 percent Win % — 10 percent
  23. When was the last time Yianni competed at 125?
  24. Quoting Wrestlestat for accuracy is akin to using Wiki as a reference for a research paper.
  25. No worries... David Carr has been at 165 all season. Quincy Monday made a mid-season jump, not Carr.
