  1. Where do you think he'll fit in? Not gonna take away Vasquez spot at 141. Zeke's loyal to guys, a five year starter isn't going away. Can he beat Larkin and Ramos? It'll be interesting. I hope he's as good as everyone expects. All the hype is from beating Hardy, but then he followed it up with a lousy Pac 12 tournament. Hopefully his shoulder is fully recovered to give it a shot.
  2. Actually Ward was projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick. He thought because he won the Heisman he should be a first rounder and thus chose the NBA.
  3. You obviously don't follow basketball or know your basketball history. I believe he played against something like 8 or 9 HOF centers. Not all of these guys are HOFers but look up the size and stats of Bill Russell, Nate Thurmand, Walt Bellamy, Kareem, Bob Lanier, Wes Unseld, Elvin Hayes. The list goes on and on. Back then the big man in the middle was the focus of a team, not outside shooting.
  4. So in wrestling about 10% of starters end up being All American. Can you imagine if other sports did that. College basketball would have a 35th team All American guard, point, guard, forwards and center. College football would be celebrating the 13th team All American QB. Wrestling should just call them placer and perhaps label the top 2 or 3 All Americans.
  5. Except it doesn't appear Schultz is in the portal.
  6. Still gotta prove he can beat his teammate Ramos. Sources tell me he has had trouble doing that for years.
  7. Here's a link to last years numbers..... 2022-23 Wrestling Attendance
  8. They should be fine at 165 with Ruiz. I was one of the top 10 recruits last year and in one of his few dual appearances he beat the defending Pac 12 champion Oloquin from Oregon St. His other dual appearance was verus Carr, with the exprected result of a true freshman facing a NCAA champ.
  9. I watched Figueroa lose in the dual versus Stanford. At that point he'd lost of his last 4, including a match to the Oregon St backup. His season record was 5-5. He went 10-0 the remainder of the year, with pretty much every match being against a top notch opponent. I'm not sure what was going on with him, be it mental or slow recovery from his injuries, but kudos for turning it around.
  10. Kaylor hasn't AA'd for 2 years. I think that ship has sailed.
  11. Pretty sure McLane's done. They introduced him at senior night. Do you think Vasquez is going somewhere? He'll be back at 141. No way Parco is gonna drop a weight after being an AA 4 years at 149. Not so sure Larkin can beat anyone out in the 149 class. Freestyle success doesn't always mean folkstyle success. In addition to Parco, rumor has it he's had trouble beating Ramos, you also have Ysaquirre. Valencia didn't fare to well this year when he tried to jump to 184. Lost the wrestle off to Negron who jumped over him from 165 to 184 and had a solid year. I think he stays right where he's at, 174.
  12. Unless he edited your post, it's you in the wrong because he mentions the Abas upset in his post.
  13. Funny definition of "kicking someone's teeth in". Records show Imar wrestled Nolf in the 2 years prior to losing to Joseph two straight years in the finals. First time was a fall, then the last two matches were. 6-5 3-3 (TB 2)
