  1. Then I think Fields takes the spot from Mulvaney. I think I may have thought Fields had already qualified. I went down the ranking and saw where the placed at Conference and if they earned the conference an allocation. So those were the ones I came up with. As far as Washington I think I was a little prejudice when it came to him from the year he finished 14th at Big Ten and qualified (Which is absurd that all 14 qualified) and then promptly went 0-2 also he has also gone 3-7 since the Southern Scuffle. If you think about taking Washington you should probably take DJ Shannon insted who is 11-18 with two of those wins over Washington in the last month.
  2. Bubba Wilson of Nebraska. He is ranked 31st But I could see him stealing that last spot. But I would pick Wask Wask has wins over Murphy of Campbell and Faison of NC State which are in the field. Wilson only field win is over Tyler Eichens of North Carolina. Plus, Wask qualified the weight for EIWA.
  3. Washington at 174? No for a couple reason He is ranked #24 adn didn't win a match at Big Ten and then defaulted in the 9th place bracket and finished what would be 12th and they only had 8 qualifications. Wask finished 7th and the EIWA had 6 allocations and he went 3-2 at EIWA. He is also #26 ranked

  6. Carr may catch Ramirez with Quality wins (using Coaches Rankings) Carr wins vs. Wrestlers in the field. (or ranked but not yet qualified) In the Field: #4 Hamiti (wis), #6 Caliendo (Iowa) , #7 Olejnik (Ok State) , #8 Hall *WV) (2x), #11 Amine (Mich), #22 MIller (App St), #25 Garvin (stanford), Thomsen (UNI) Ranked but need an at large: #12 Thompson (Ohio), #16 Heller (Pitt) Ramirez wins vs. Wrestlers in the field (or ranked but not yet qualified) In the Field: #2 Carr, #17 Cerniglia (Navy), #20 Brady (VT), #25 Garvin (Stanford), #31 Logan (Lehigh), Ranked but need an at large: #14 Hepner (Ohio St), #16 Heller (Pitt), #18 Fields (NCST), #19 Mulvaney (Bucknell), So depending on who gets in Carr could win the quality wins portion. Which would give him the seed. Ranked wrestlers needing an at large (there are 5 spots) #9 Fish, Michigan State #12 Thompson Ohio #14 Hepner Ohio St #16 Heller Pitt #18 Fields NC State #19 Mulvaney, Bucknell #29 Carlson Oklahoma #32 Chance McLane, Arizona State #33 Cody Walsh, Drexel
  7. I forgot Hawks also beat #20 Ayzerov of Columbia (that is three top 20 wins as compared to zero by Whiting). Whiting beat hawks 4-1 in Sudden Victory. I mean that is the slightest of margins. Maybe Hawks has turned it around on Whiting as of recently. If so with those wins he would have to be a no brainer. This is nothing against Whiting in any way. But, taking all things into consideration. It is probably the right choice as it was last year. When Harman beat Hawks during the season. But Hawks had wins over guys who beat Harman and better wins overall. It is a tough decision. Remember, Hawks was #10 ranked coming into the season. Personally, I think either one would be a great choice. But if you look at it by what has happened this season. Hawks is probably the right choice.
  8. You have the seeding and records wrong at 141 lb. Almarinez of SIU-E 4-1 in the MAC with a win over Nugent (#3 seed) and only loss to Brya (#2) seed. I believe it would go: 1. Henson, Lock Haven 2. Brya, Northern Illinois 3. Almarinez, SIU-Edwardsville 4. Negent, Central MIchigan 5. Sullivan, Clarion 6. Layton, Cleveland State 7. Meiszner, Kent State 8. Brooks, Buffalo
  9. Hawks best wins #5 Salazar and #10 Feldkamp this year. Whiting best wins are #29 Dennis Robin and #30 Tony Negron. His win against Hawks doesn't count. So Hawks is the best choice for seeds and if an at-large is needed.
  10. Colton Hawks, Was ranked in the last rankings which means they put him as the starter. He may be the 4th or 5th seed since he beat Feldkamp.

  12. This interface for the Soldier Salute is possibly the worst I have ever seen. Not user friendly at all. I can still follow it, but it is a task. The one thing I do like is you click on the match video and it pops up without taking you to another page. But other than that POS. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if Brooks & AJ are 2 & 3 seed. Say AJ beats Brooks in the dual and Brooks beats AJ at Big 10. Then someone likes Buchanan or Elam goes undefeated and wins Big XII or Hidlay goes undefeated. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
  14. I think with Mizzou only having 4 Freshman this year and basically them all wrestling at the Tiger Style and Maryville Open. (the ones that were not injured) They are also entered in the Cougar Clash. They had to choose one to skip for the 5 dates and I guess Lindenwood was the one. I know 2nd semester they have the UNO open plus Denker Open and Missouri Valley Open. I can see Mizzou sending their Freshman and Some backups to Midlands as well like last year. Cameron Steed looked really good beating Manibog and Harper. I was at the LU open and that Freshman/Sophomore Division was pretty darn good. It had DIV I redshirt freshman from Bellermine, Northern Illinois, Iowa, Oklahoma State, SIU-Edwardsville, Northwestern, Illinois & of course LIndenwood not to mention Central Oklahoma and McKendree from DII I am happy Okie State brought their whole team as well SIU-E. The Lindenwood Open replaced the old St. Louis Open the same weekend. That had a bunch of DI teams like Mizzou, Okie State, Oklahoma, Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Northern Illinois Illinois, Purdue, Chattanooga. Plus now defunct programs like Notre Dame, Clemson, BYU, Southwest Missouri State (now Missouri State), Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, and Iowa would send their backups. Plus tough DII teams at the time like SIU-Edwardsville, Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma. Plus, all the good JUCO's around Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Iowa. It was brutal.

  20. Smith beat future Head Coaches Tom Ryan and Sean Bormet in the finals and had people like Marcus Mollica (2x Champ & 4x AA), Ray Miller (4x AA & Champ), Joe Williams (3x Champ, 4x AA), Dan Russell (4x DII Champ, 2x DI AA) , Steve Hamilton (4x AA), Barry Weldon (NCAA Champ), Shaon Fry (NCAA Finalist) in his weight class. Plus future head coaches Scott Goodale (Rutgers) and Jim Andrassey (Kent State).
  21. @Gibby HaynesI guess we have 80's Touch and Go references all tied up. From my memory AWA Kids that have been on the Mizzou Roster Raschka, Mocco, O'Toole, Pfleger, Spray and Whiting Other Wisconsin Wrestlers from the past Max and Ben, Pell, Hucke, Josh Wagner, Glen Kendl That is all I remember. So as far as the Penn State/AWA signings. I was very disappointed that Messenbrink signed with PSU (I was disappointed he signed with Cal Baptist as well). I thought he would be a no doubt Mizzou kid for a couple of reasons A) He was an Askren pupil. B) His dad was Askren's HS coach and Arrowhead kids that have gone to MIzzou have gone on to win National Titles (Askren's and O'Toole) while other Arrowhead kids that went else where have not (Ie Jake Sueflon(sp), Josh Otto). C) Messenbrink's father is a St. Louis boy that is a McCluer North graduate... maybe they still had relatives in the St. Louis area. But Alas, I was wrong. But the Mirasola brothers I was not surprised they didn't get them at all. Because They signed Aeodin Sinclair and one of the brothers was going to be at his weight. Now that being said I sure hope Mizzou gets Wyatt Duchateau. I think he is a future 157 lbs. I have had my eye on him since he won Cheesehead in 2022. The other AWA kid I hope Mizzou gets (besides Wolbert) is Ben Bast. He might be the answer at 125/133 lbs. I could see him and Mack Mauger battling it out. Yes I am the artist formerly known as Northco. Which I can't use anymore cause I live South Side now.
  22. I agree conferences are antiquated for wrestling. I think four regionals and the top 8 from each regional qualifies for the NCAA Tournament. A True 8th place match would also happen if needed. This is what the regionals would look like (the ranking numbers are what they placed at NCAA's this year). Also, I am using all teams that are going to be NCAA DIV I in 2026 (as that would give us 80/81 teams.Making basically equal Regionals....So Morgan State, Queens, Bellermine, and Lindenwood are all included) OK I know someone is going to say How is Minnesota in the West when it is Wayyyyyy North. Well it came down to Minnesota was the furthest west of any of them that I considered. It came down to Iowa, Northern Iowa and Minnesota. Iowa was West of UNI and Minni was West of Iowa. You could also move Minnesota to the North and Iowa to the West or If you really wanted to do it. you could move Minnesota to the North and SIU-E to the West since it right next to the line of demarcation (Mississippi River) and is way more south, So it might be less travel for them. The tournaments should be held in Major cities (East = Philly or NYC, North = Chicago or Detriot), South = Charlotte or Nashville, West = KC or Denver) The NCAA loves their play in games so the 9th placers wrestle the Wednesday to be the 33rd qualifier. That person would take on an 8th placer of the highest Region Seed that is not their own. You would only seed the Regional Champions So let's take 165 this year the Regional Champs would have been (for sake of argument) East = Julian Rodriguez, Cornell South = Carson Kharchula, Ohio State North = Dena Hamiti, Wisconsin West = David Carr, Iowa State The Seeds would have been: #1 Carr, #2 Hamiti, #3 Ramirez, #4 Kharcula So West would be Vs. South all first Round and East Vs. North (so that 33rd would be say Austin Yant from the North Region and he would match up against the 8th placer from the South for the pleasure of wrestling David Carr) If the 9th placer is from the West he would take on the 8th placer the south as he is the meeting up with the highest seeded wrestler that would not meet his regional) Each Quarter Bracket would be 1 Vs. 8, 4 Vs. 5, 3 Vs. 6 and 8 vs, 2 So entire bracket would look like this (Using the 165 seeding. 1W Vs. 8S, 5E vs 4N, 3S vs. 6W, 7N vs. 2E 1S vs. 8W, 5N vs, 4E, 3W vs. 6S, 7E vs, 2N 1E vs, 8N, 5W vs. 4S, 3N vs, 6E, 7S vs. 2W 1N vs, 8E, 5S vs. 4W, 3E vs 6N, 7W vs. 2S So this is what the qualifier list would have looked like for this years 165 (the Placers are purely theoretical). So the 4 man wrestle-in would be Harkins, Mazzara, Yant and Cook, The list is pretty similar to what the actual national qualifiers were.
  23. Kind of seems impeccable timing that year after Teyon Ware arrives Lou resigns. I thought Lou was doing a good job up until this year. This year they finished with 6 points and 5 of their 7 qualifiers were from the transfer portal (Prata, Henson, Shwartz, Moore, Nijenhuis). I don't know what that says about his recruiting, but if you were a high school senior wouldn't that give you a bit of pause. Also, as of next year only 15 of the 38 kids on the team are from OK and only 2 of 10 starters. I know they kind of always lose out on the best OK talent to OSU. They haven't had a AA from OK since 2011. It is not a sustainable model to rely on getting out of state kids, especially from states like PA, OH and CA. Those states have many college options they can attend. I think Teyon Ware would be a perfect choice to take over the program. His assistant coaching stint at Wyoming produced many AA's and qualifiers (and one of them is at OU because of him).
  24. First off I'm a Mizzou fan. So biased. But how is that not two in first for Keegan and how is that ever two for Carr in the third. But that was a nice takedown in OT. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
