2023 NCAA Champions https://www.jerseywrestling.com/news.php?story=2023 NCAA Champions The 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Tulsa brought the fire! Congratulations to all qualifiers, All-Americans, and champions who performed at this year's premier national tournament. There were many upsets throughout the three days, but no bigger than Purdue's Matt Ramos' epic win and pin over three-time NCAA champion Spencer Lee of Iowa. Penn State won the team title and had two individual NCAA champions. Cornell also had two wrestlers bring home titles, including Vito Arujau and Yianni Diakomihalis who became the fifth four-time NCAA champion since 1928. Max Brignola and McKenzie Bell, NJ medalists at Rumson and Kingsway, have entered the rankings for Lehigh and Rider at #26 and #29, respectively. Pat Glory and Shane Griffith remain ranked #2 at their respective weight classes. Mekhi Lewis, Chris Foca, Michael O'Malley and Joe Heilman have all cracked the top ten. The "John Smith" error has been fixed for this ranking. We'll need to add some additional post-processing for duplicate names, but we recently changed rankings like this one to score wrestlers career regardless of time, weights, and teams. For example, the decade rankings where the 1970s would miss all of Mike Frick's medals will no longer be an issue. Of course, this new method, will have guys ranked in multiple weights - but we think that's OK! Also transfer's rankings should be more accurate with this change. Appreciate all the positive support.
