Title IX was the excuse for why schools dropped programs, but usually not the real reason. The truth is that wrestling is just not appealing to the average sports fan. It will always be a fringe sport whose fans are mainly former wrestlers.
Looks like they're using some goofy platform that nobody's heard of before (smoothcomp). I can't figure out how to view brackets on there. Trackwrestling ain't great but it's sure better than this.
Below high school level, but there's no youth board anymore, so this is a close as I can get. Looking for ideas for warm-up games or games to end practice with. Based on your experience, what are the best ones?
What a great marketing idea! Makes me wonder why schools haven't done this sooner. Get to see some great in-state rivalries continue and, if the public's allowed to watch, may be worth a few hours drive.
Got to see Iowa's challenge matches a few years back right before the Ohio St. football game and it was the perfect day - front row seats for top wrestling with an afternoon of college football a few steps away.
