This is a huge nut kick to Coleman Scott and John Smith. BUT when Scott was hired from UNC, David Taylor was not even in the picture as a future coach. He was going to be wrestling in the Paris Olympics. Whoops! Also and more importantly, Ok State wrestling then found their own version of T Boone Pickens who did not want money (salary, staff and NIL) to keep them from getting Taylor. it was the best possible move for Okla State if they have any desire to become relevant in the NCAA tournament because Taylor will attract recruits and good assistant coaches. Coleman Scott will be a head coach somewhere and probably a better job than UNC.

The Trials worked. We are sending the best we have at each weight. Historical records mean nothing. I thought Brook's matches with Dieringer and Valencia were more competitive than the finals.

Messenbrink v Messenbrink: I guarantee Messenbrink would have a takedown in the first period. Passivity call would only affect the matches the fans already hate and boo. Attendance means nothing. School spirit will always outdraw the Olympians.

Agree. My hunting buddies are ex-Ok State wrestlers and they were encouraged when Coleman Scott was hired from UNC. They just hope he takes over sooner rather than later. Their fear is John will stay until his youngest son, who is on the team, graduates.

Burroughs talked too much about himself but in today's world that may be the norm. I like DC but I'm biased. I followed him at Ok State and I sat next to him on a flight from OKC to Phoenix in 2004. He was on the Olympic team (Athens) and heading to the Training Center in Tempe. When he found out I had wrestled in college he talked non-stop and it was fun. He's a very smart and personable guy. He even informed me my alma mater was getting a new coach (Mark Branch).

Any idea how many calls were overturned? Successful bricks?

Pat Smith started Arkansas Wrestling Academy in Little Rock which probably helps with interest and developing local talent.

Anyone for adding a passivity call? How many first periods in the tournament ended 0-0 after 3 minutes of hand fighting?

Coleman Scott why else would a successful head coach leave North Carolina to be an Associate Head Coach at OkState. I always assumed it would be Mark Branch.
