  1. I read on Twitter they will be held in September in either Omaha or NYC.
  2. Anyone know when the non-Olympic weight world team trials will be? Who will show up? 79kg will be fun to watch.
  3. I don’t think it’s “the sport of women’s basketball,” I think it is Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. They’re stars and the media has built a lot of drama and interest around them the past few years.
  4. I think he will do fine at UPenn, but it is incredibly strange to me that someone could go from not coaching (but working in athletic department) to the Head Coach.
  5. From what I understand, everyone has sort of soured on Storniolo. Over the span of a few years they lost Cody Brewer, Kennedy, and Howe. The athletes loved those guys and it crushed the morale.
  6. Marable was a tweener. His ceiling was world champion. If you saw Imar this weekend, you’d know he has no plans of competing. Nothing against him, but he has clearly moved on. J’Den Cox will be at OTT. He was rolling with Davison at NCAA’s. My guess is 97kg.
  7. Lots of talk about the Little Rock guys. While the athletic department itself may not have deep pockets, that is not who cuts the check for NIL deals. Their program essentially started because one incredibly rich Arkansas businessman wanted them to have a team. I bet they’re going to find a way to keep those guys.
  8. The finger excuse is pretty weak. We’ve all been there and it’s not a shoulder, elbow, or knee.
  9. I agree - Kansas City was awesome. Power and Light district made for a great time and some pretty interesting people watching Saturday night post-finals (if you were at Big Sky, you know what I’m talking about). Tons of hotels within walking distance. The scooters, the trolley, etc. all made it great. While I was most excited for the bbq, my favorite spot had to be Town Topic. Ended up there every day. Great burgers, heard the breakfast was excellent as well After eating at most of the bbq places that were recommended my rankings are as follows: 1. LC’s 2. Jack Stack 3. Q39 4. Char Bar 5. Joe’s KC BBQ
  10. I feel bad for a lot of the six and seven year guys, but it’s safe to say that experiment didn’t really work.
  11. BBQ Update: LC’s was great. A little ways out of town, but worth it. Joe’s is mediocre. A little ways out of town, and not worth it. Jack Stack is good. More of a sit down place. Good vibe. Q39 is next place on the list if our buddies will let us.
  12. Watched a lot of the D2 tourney last weekend. Way too many stall calls. Guy that was winning almost always got hit late. Saw a guy get hit for stalling while sitting corner to lose in quarters. What was he supposed to do?
  13. I have not attended an NCAA tournament since before Covid. Do they still do headsets? I thought I read that they did away with them in past few years. I thought they were incredibly helpful. Anyone know if they will have them at KC?
  14. Yes it does - it’s a logical way of separating Carr and KOT. Guarantee neither Carr or KOT cares about being the #1 seed. They both want to be separated from the other more than they want that to be seeded 1.
