  1. Nope. She's smart as a whip. As opposed to the Republicans in the house like MTG and Boebert.
  2. Cael, Pat, and Steiber never finished 3rd, UNLIKE KOT.
  3. AOC came in second in the microbiology category of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in 2007 with a research project on the effect of antioxidants on the lifespan of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. (wikipedia). She later graduated cum laude from Boston University while working her way through school. Oh yeah, she sounds pretty stupid compared to the guy who didn't know Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands (US is even in there for godsake) were part of the USA, or who said we won the American Revolution by seizing the airports from the Brits. I think your skills of observation are quite lacking.
  4. LOL...the Peppelman brothers. That's a bast from the past.
  5. Agreed. I hated it. Brilliant performances by the actors but definitely not a movie to watch more than once. It's like watching "The Road".
  6. I remember my JR High coach took the team to the "Anchor Inn" restaurant in Tulsa after the last tournament of the season (not counting state). We gorged on fried shrimp night, then he took us all to watch "Takedown" with Lorenzo Thomas. Terrible movie, but great times
  7. A lot of the duals are posted on youtube the day after the event for the big duals.
  8. Is Cael a Mormon? I'm an atheist but I'd consider conversion if he could turn me into an NCAA champ calibre wrestler
  9. That sounds reasonable. I think it's possible he'll run into somebody like Schultz, just a huge guy with too much power for Bastida to handle. But, I remember how Cassar made it look easy against the big boys too.
  10. O'Toole. I think he's got Carr's number now.
  11. Ayala is more of a known quantity, perhaps? Spratley has been wrestling well and has a chance.
  12. No, that's 600 pounds. DUH. You'd have to use 2.28 125 pounders. So, 2 125 pounders, plus you can put the arms of another 125 pounder in there.
  13. That reminds me of how David Taylor was always better than Dake on paper
  14. Bastida is wrestling Zach Elam on Sunday, Bastida is 19-0 and Elam is 20-0. Who do you think wins this one?
  15. Oh wow, I'd love to see that match. I can't imagine Arnold not wanting to step on the mat with Plott. He's athletic enough to give Plott problems too. I thought Plott was wrestling Riggens? If it's Arnold I'll go with Plott by decision, but it will be a great battle.
  16. Bastida reminds me of Anthony Cassar since he's basically a pumped up 197 pounder. He's fast and athletic compared to the fat boys. Kerkvliet isn't a fat boy either, and he's bigger. What do you think of Bastida's chances against Hendricksen and Kerk? I think Bastida might have the best chance at beating Kerkvliet, provided he can get through the fat boys.
  17. I'll be rooting for the good guys, but the guys in black will win. 125 Ayala 133 Fix 141 Jamison 149 Rathjen 157 Franek 165 Caliendo 174 Kennedy 184 Plott tech 197 Glazier HWT Doucet Final score: Hawkeyes 18 Pokes 14 Picked Jamison over Woods because Woods doesn't seem to be wrestling all that well lately. The rest were straightforward, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fix won by major (his lack of aggression makes me think he'll win 11-4 or something like that), and I wouldn't be surprised if Plott just majored Riggens instead of teching him. I wouldn't be shocked if Surber actually beat Glazier, although Glazier is having a great year. Surber is squirrelly as hell.
  18. Isn't being seeded in the other half of the bracket reward enough?
  19. No. And Hendrickson's loss to Kerk may not go against his record, but I'll bet you his beatdown at the hands of Kerk will be considered. The only way Kerk isn't top seed at NCAAs is if he loses at Big 10s, and then the guy who beat him will take top seed, not the Big 10 champ.
  20. Hmmmm. Well I did all my HS and college wrestling in Oklahoma, so I'll say the best wrestlers from my state were Pat Smith and his brother John Smith. Pat did better in college and John did great internationally. As for my current home state and where I'll retire, New Mexico, Joe Puerto, 1933 NCAA champion at Illinois (123 pounds), and 1934 runnerup at 118 pounds.
  21. PSU is going to stomp the rest of the field. Nobody will be surprised when it happens either.
  22. Unfortunately I don't think you can call OU as "legit perennial power" anymore. OU hasn't had a consistently elite program since the mid-80s, and hasn't even had a good team since Jack Spates was coach a long, long time ago. Hopefully Kish will prove to be a good coach, but OU will probably be lucky to finish top 25 at NCAAs. I don't think the NCAA in it's current form will exist much longer (due to NILs, mostly), to be honest. Within 5 years it'll be dust or radically different.
  23. It would be great if the SEC brought back wrestling. Some of the old SEC schools had reasonably good programs (LSU, Auburn, Kentucky). Of course that'll never happen
  24. I think all of PSU's starters will AA this year, same as Minnesota did a couple decades ago. Except about 5 guys from PSU will be champions.
