  1. It's not hard for me to wrap my mind around it. Tom is a dumb guy
  2. I was pretty surprised that Hamiti has never beaten Cam Amine (he hasn't wrestled him this year). Mesenbrink spanked Amine. Has Amine regressed or something?
  3. I want whatever you guys have been smoking. Is it indica? Tell me it's indica.
  4. He's beaten a few good guys, but I'm surprised he's unbeaten and seeded under Hamiti who has a loss (even though it's a close loss to Carr). Yeah, I know Hamiti has been pretty good this year as well.
  5. I'm a little surprised Mesenbrink isn't the top seed at 165.
  6. The only shocking revelation from that story is that he had to go to community college to get his grades up for Okie State
  7. Derek Moore never finished higher than 5th at the California HS State Championships, but he was an undefeated NCAA champion at 141 for California-Davis in 2007, techfalling the heavily favored #1 seed Ryan Lang from Northwestern 17-2. He also got the Outstanding Wrestler award.
  8. 285 is nearly the perfect weight for a defensive lineman! 197 is definitely pretty skinny for a D1 linebacker though
  9. Hutmacher is an offensive lineman, right? Or am I wrong about him like I was Keuter?
  10. Keep his RS for wrestling, what else? He's not going to make it into the NFL anyway. Let's face it, if he was a top prospect in football with NFL dreams he probably wouldn't be going to Iowa, he'd get a lot more attention from NFL scouts playing for somebody like Alabama or Ohio State. No offense, Hawkeye fans, but your football team is usually pretty mediocre.
  11. I'm not happy about the low number of matches either from a purely fan perspective. I remember when the guys in the NCAA finals always had at least 25 matches or so under their belts, usually more.
  12. yeah, that's the reason I said he wasn't big enough Those guys are humongous.
  13. I don't know about that. I'm not a PSU fan and I'm a PSU fan, if you know what I mean. I've never liked PSU in anything but Cael's got that team wrestling so well that I love watching them. Who doesn't like watching the best? I think PSU is attracting more attention to college wrestling, and probably in a good way. I agree somewhat with the guys here that state the de-emphasis on duals is hurting the sport. How many times have we seen that coaches don't seem to care about the duals by holding guys out for ridiculous seeding considerations? Fans love those matches where top guys battle each other, even in duals, and it hurts the sport a little more every time the coaches stop great matches from happening.
  14. Oh. Well he's big enough for a LB. My bad, I thought he was an offensive lineman.
  15. I never wrestled Greco and still don't understand it hardly at all. All I know are no leg attacks!
  16. Man, that seems kinda dicey. I'm not sure Keuter can finish that high and it would burn his RS. He's got potential, Brands should roll with somebody else and let Keuter keep the RS.
  17. I don't think that kid is a good enough football player, or big enough, to realistically go to the NFL early. He may develop into an NFL prospect though, with time. Plus, I don't think there is much chance he ends up being a starter next year for the Hawkeyes in football, he's relatively puny for a lineman. It'll be interesting watching him at B10s if Brands goes with him. He'd have to place decently to quality for NCAAs with so few matches under his belt, right?
  18. I think I'd like to see something done about excessive riding. I love mat work in wrestling, but the boys this year sure seem to be riding a lot and not working for points. If a guy gets a takedown or reversal I think he should be given 30 seconds to either score a NF or they go back to neutral. If a guy gets a NF then the clock resets and he has another 30 seconds to work. Sounds reasonable, yes?
  19. I wouldn't skip B10s just because of the medals which are the perfect size for coasters on the coffee table.
  20. I remember that match. Gomez whipped up on Yianni.
  21. It would be funny if Glazier finished 5th or so at NCAAs and decided to transfer to PSU for his senior year
  22. Well, if that's his dream. But since 79kg isn't an Olympic weight class wouldn't that man he'd have to bump up to 86kg and face David Taylor? Or does he drop to 74kg and challenge Kyle Dake? I'm not sure I like his chances against either of those guys. Plus even at the non-Olympic weight of 79kg I think he might have problems with Dieringer. I hope he does what he thinks is right. PSU would miss his points at NCAAs, but they will probably still win by 50 points even if he skips NCAAs.
  23. Heinselman beat Doucet a couple weeks ago and acted like a heel afterward. I think Heinselman might be a R12 type guy this year, but he tends to nearly always disappoint if I actually think he has a chance.
