  1. Is Eierman on the staff at Iowa? He seems like an easy hire to address scrambling deficiencies.
  2. Kerk has been a bit more dominant than Bastida this year. That, plus being an unbeaten Big 10 champ, is enough to make him the #1 seed. It shouldn't matter to Bastida where he's seeded since he's already beaten the likely #3 and #4 seeds. It always amazes me how well the pumped up 197 pounders do against the real big boys. I think Kerk might be a bit too athletic for Bastida to exploit his quickness against.
  3. I wouldn't be shocked to see Schultz beat anybody, to be honest. He's a brute, but he's more like the classic "fat guy" heavies than the modern athletic ones. I once saw him just straight up crumple another hwt to his back. No throw, no takedown, he just brute forced the dude over to his back. Schultz has problems against fast heavies that have good strength and technique (guys like Bastida), but I think he'd make easy work of Feldman. I don't think Feldman has enough power to handle Schultz.
  4. They aren't the only one. I can't remember the last time the coaching at Oklahoma State made a wrestler better. Daton Fix is exactly the same guy he was when he got to OSU 6 years ago. He may have actually regressed a little because last year he only finished 4th instead of 2nd like all his other years. Dustin Plott is the exact same guy he's been for the last 3 years on the mat, maybe slightly more consistent now as a Jr. Luke Surber has, if anything, regressed from his Fr year.
  5. The Hawkeyes have a great deal going with Tom and Terry, counting both those dudes they have a collective IQ of 130
  6. Are you imitating Tom Brands or Donald Trump?
  7. I have it this way: 1) KOT 2)Mesenbrink 3) Carr 4) Hamiti
  8. I think it should be seeded this way: 1) Kerkvliet 2) Bastida 3) Hendrickson 4) Doucet Just kidding about Doucet! The real #4 should be: 4) Schultz
  9. The problem with Schultz is he doesn't wrestle much quality competition before NCAAs and his current conference is a joke and doesn't get much attention compared to the Big 10, Big 12, or EIWA. He's got a great collegiate record though and usually shows well at NCAAs. I saw a couple interviews with him and he seems to be a good natured kid.
  10. Yup. We wouldn't lose so many good big guys to football.
  11. Okie State still has a chance to win the Big 12 tournament. If ISU goes cold in the finals OSU might still win.
  12. Why, haven't you heard somebody praise Jesus yet?
  13. I'm going out on a tremendous limb here, but I predict Haines over Lewan 2-1.
  14. I'm glad Cael will finally have talented wrestlers to work with, unlike the putzes he's had up to this point.
  15. I checked Lewan's career record on wrestlestat. He has 5 falls in his career of over 126 matches. This year he's gotten more bonus points than any other year (22%!). The kid is basically a stallmaster. The vast majority of his career matches are 1 or 2 point affairs. He's got a career record of 91-35 and is a 2 time All American. He's wrestled Haines twice, the first time Haines beat him 3-1 SV1, and 2-1 this year. I guess Lewan is always within a takedown of winning, as painful as that is to realize
  16. Buchanon hasn't improved at OU at all. If anything he's basically the same level he was at Wyoming.
  17. If he'd coached the guy up better Ayala might not have lost!
  18. No, it's Cornell and Aquafresh. Sorry, couldn't resist the bad toothpaste joke.
  19. Since the Hawkeyes love playing the heel that isn't hard to believe
  20. It looks like it counts all matches and not just B10, I cross-referenced it with trackwrestling's team profile from the tournament.
