    NFL was rough on QBs back then too. None of the Brady rules, etc. I think he said he'd play NFL if he was picked in the first round. No one was willing to do it, but they may have been scared he'd choose basketball anyway. NBA contracts are guaranteed all years, NFL not so much.

    Made me think of Garrett vs Delgado NCAA final. Not both great double leggers, but Nahshon hit some incredible double leg shots, and Delgado funked out of them all.     You may be right. Was thinking Ferraris size will let him slow it down a bit and make it real tough for Brooks to finish on him. But Brooks is one of the best in the world, and its hard to see anyone slowing him down.

    I think it will be close with Brooks. I'm thinking they split in the regular season, then Brooks takes it at NCAA's. Hidlay is in the mix at this weight too imo. And could get the 1 seed if they split.

    Yeah, same here. Will be a good match, both are great on their feet. Bastida probably will be giving up a few pounds.

    I like the way it influences a 1 takedown match. In the old rules the wrestler without a takedown could win in regulation with 2 escapes and a full period ride out. Now, it would force OT, which I think is perfect. Hadn't thought about bonus points, but that is an interesting point brought up earlier. Still waiting to judge on the 2 point reversal.

    Was a good high school wrestler. Was a preferred walk on at a (now defunct) MAC program. Tore ACL freshman year, and then partied too much. Forgot about wrestling for about 15 years. Went back to a local CC and joined the club team around age 33 or 34. Ended up qualifying for NWCA nationals and went 1-2 there. Most fun I had had in a long time, but it nearly broke my body. Now I've been a high school assistant coach for almost a decade.
