  1. You are correct in both sentences. Have a great weekend and send pics of your latest smoked creation. mspart
  2. Ha, thanks Know Nothing. I plan on 120 years but genetics says different!!! My Great Grandpa lived to 42, grandpa to 54, my dad to 88 so the trajectory is there. However my great great grandpa lived to 63, dying just 2 years before my great grandpa. I just need to outlive my kids and grandkids and I'll be happy. My 401K has gained 6 times what it was in 2008. That's 15 years, not too bad. I just need that to have been 12 times and I would be sitting pretty. I'm thinking I could have maybe but I lost track for a number of years so I didn't get the gains I could have had. Oh well, I am where I am. Was looking to retire but not enough in the kitty yet. If I retire now and die in a month, there's enough. mspart
  3. I heard this this morning. https://www.nationalreview.com/news/students-at-school-run-by-u-n-palestinian-aid-agency-boast-about-wanting-to-murder-jews-in-shocking-video/ Students at a school in East Jerusalem run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) were recorded in a recently resurfaced video explaining how they’ve been taught to murder Jews and take part in the generational struggle to reclaim land which they believe belongs to Palestinians. The documentary was shot in 2022 in a school in the Shuafat refugee camp in East Jerusalem and recently resurfaced amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. In the video, students who appear to be as young as seven or eight years old tell an interviewer “we have been taught that the Jews kill our children.” “Stabbing and trampling Jews brings respect to the Palestinians,” says another child. Another student explains that she is “ready to carry out a suicide attack.” This UN agency needs to be disbanded. I also heard that the head of the agency in Gaza was terminated due to Hamas request. This is what our tax dollars to the UN pay for. mspart
  4. To be clear, I spent a good amount of time in Venezuela in the 80's and love the country. But it has turned into a very bad place and I feel bad for those that live there under horrendous conditions. But I do not feel bad for these thugs in NYC. Deport them now. mspart
  5. Heck, you can even beat up a cop in NYC and get out without bail. And then escape to CA. https://nypost.com/2024/02/01/metro/police-believe-4-of-the-migrants-arrested-in-nyc-cop-beatdown-fled-to-california/ Four of the migrants cut loose without bail after allegedly ganging up on two NYPD cops near Times Square may be on the run, The Post has learned. Cops believe the group could have hopped on a bus bound for California on Wednesday after giving phony names to a church-affiliated nonprofit group that helps migrants get rides out of the city, according to law enforcement sources. Let's see if they honor their court dates and prove this wrong. mspart
  6. Fani Willis is not feeling so good. I'll cherry pick some pieces here. https://www.npr.org/2024/02/02/1224275208/fani-willis-misconduct-nathan-wade-trump-case Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is strongly pushing back against claims she violated federal law and ethical standards by having a personal relationship with a lead prosecutor on the 2020 election interference case against former President Donald Trump and others. In a court filing Friday, Willis said the relationship with Nathan Wade, who was hired to work the case in 2021, did not begin until 2022 and allegations that the pair financially benefit from prosecuting the case are "meritless." ...According to the Jan. 8 motion, Wade has been paid more than $600,000 since 2021 for his work on the case, which primarily included overseeing a months-long special purpose grand jury process behind closed doors that investigated the failed attempt to overturn Georgia's 2020 presidential results by Trump and his allies. ... Credit card statements released in the divorce case show two plane tickets, one to Miami and one to San Francisco, that Wade purchased for himself and in Willis' name. The DA said that "expenses for personal travel were roughly divided equally between us." (Roughly indeed!!!) Lets see - She hires her lover for $250/hour, totaling over $600K. But using that money to go on various vacations together is not unethical or illegal. Noooooo. It's racist to think so. Poor Fani, made her bed and now has to sleep in it. And she had the temerity of speaking in church and complaining about how racist this all is. Just going after him and her because of racism. You don't say. Let me tell you, white DAs that hire their white attorney lover in the same way and go on vacation together on the hired's dime will get treated the same way. It's called being an idiot. Being an idiot is no respecter of races. As my funny page on my wall at work says, Life is tough. It's tougher when you're stupid. Attributed to John Wayne. How stupid do you have to be to do what Fani Willis did? She thought she could game the system. She thought it was iron clad. She thought no one would find out. Only an idiot and felon thinks that way. I don't know if what she did rises to felony status, just saying felons think that way. But I'm pretty sure the idiot moniker is accurate. Most felons are not known for high IQ. Most are idiots. mspart
  7. I saw this on the news last night. Looks like walls and fences work. Razor wire is an especially effective deterrent. You don't want to get caught in that stuff. Barbed wire is much more forgiving. But remember, remember, remember : Biden's greatest desire is to stop this illegal incursion, he'd close the border if he just had the power to do so. But he went to SCOTUS to be able to cut down the razor wire. The news above makes that a little tough to do because it becomes WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY apparent that if he does that, he is a liar. Now we know that anyway, but he will prove it to the world so no one can deny. Talk about painting yourself into a corner. I've heard that federal efforts to remove the razor wire is not happening. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/border-patrol-has-no-plans-remove-razor-wire-set-up-texas-amid-feud-biden-admin Border Patrol union is against removing the razor wire. Poor Biden. mspart
  8. I want the one that doubles 30 times. Got any recommendations? mspart
  9. You mean I was right? Amazing!! mspart
  10. Not only that, but mean old Obama tortured children if that is your criteria. Oh, mean old Obama. mspart
  11. Your media assertion is a joke. The government can say whatever they want on social media, can take out whatever ad space they want in print and digital media to get those messages out. No need to do it illegally. That is a straw rabbit you have there. I don't have time to critique your other absurd assertions. Because they are absurd. mspart
  12. Also a direct result of more money in the supply. That devalues the currency and people must make more to keep up. They can make more because there is more of it out there. But they are not earning more. In 1930's bread cost 10 cents a loaf. If you could barely afford bread, that would be roughly 10 cents a day so $26/year in bread costs. Compare to now. Bread costs $2/loaf. So that is $2 a day which is $522/year. Is the person making $522/year in 2024 richer than the guy making $26/year in 1930's? No, the purchasing power is the same. Inflation robs the currency of the value it had. That is a direct result of government monetary policy. Period. From https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000702111 Bread prices from 1980 to now. mspart
  13. You also don't get to call it genocide when it demonstrably isn't. If Israel wanted genocide there would be a million or two million killed already. But surprisingly, for a genocide, the death toll is not even close to that. You say Hamas is bad but then turn around and say Israel is way worse and should stop the genocide. So your position is exactly what most of us on here think. mspart
  14. So Vak, tell us why Biden cannot staunch the flow to pre Biden levels. Perhaps not zero, but reduce it substantially below the historic levels we now have. I would be greatly surprised if there is nothing he can do. I'm sure that is what you will say though. It is apparent Biden doesn't want to do anything, or he would have done it by now. As President who is duty bound to enact and administer the law, he is supposed to enforce the immigration laws. He is choosing not to which is a dereliction of duty. Here is what he could do with the powers he has now. - He could close the border entry points now. Allow only passport holders or green card holders through. Trucks could be searched for crashers. - He could leave up the razor wire TX has implemented. - He could quit with the bogus asylum claims - He could allow Border patrol to detain and expel border crossers. - He could start rounding up illegals that have entered and take them back across the border. - Withhold federal funding of cities and states that refuse to comply with federal immigration law enforcement. - Deport illegals that commit crimes Please state why he cannot do at least one of the above, if not all of the above. mspart
  15. It is laughable and I feel bad for someone dumb enough to say the flow cannot be decreased greatly or stopped entirely. Either would be a better situation than doing nothing which is what someone on here appears dumb enough to say. mspart
  16. The grid needs to be modernized I will agree. But to store the amount of energy for future use that will be needed is not something that can be done currently. The best way to do that is to pump water to an upper reservoir with surplus energy. That would be the battery for when the energy is needed later. There is a loss with this operation due to physics and thermodynamics (which arguably the latter is a subset of the former). Developing battery storage devices are not feasible at this time. What would help is a plentiful supply of fossil fuel (thinking natural gas) that the admin seems to be not in favor of. mspart
  17. Oh I guess you gave it to me. Ouch, I'm hurting now. You got me where I live. Ha! What does that have to do with illegal immigration that is the topic of this discussion and is causing havoc in NT, MA, and IL, TX, FL, NM, AZ, CA and other states? Nobody has an issue with legal immigration per the law of the land. It is illegal immigration against the laws of the land that have become a major issue. And Biden does not appear to be moving committedly on it, he will close the border if it gets overwhelmed after a new bill passes. The super secret triple dog dare meaning of that is he will not close the border. I don't care what Vak says, Biden could close the border now with the authority he has via present immigration law. If that is too hard, he could allow Border Patrol to do their jobs and slow down the flow. Neither of which he seems eager to even try. He won't do anything without a proper immigration bill and once that passes will not do anything other than point to it and say See, we did something. mspart
  18. Point taken. I guess I was speaking about the real universe like we talk about the real world. But you are right. mspart
  19. A better response I could not have given. It's not that he couldn't understand, it's that he won't. mspart
  20. Perhaps that is correct. What you have heard is that it has never gotten to the level to affect an election. And who is the judge of that when there are no investigations into it. And with no investigations, it is easy to say there is no evidence for widespread vote fraud. See how that works? mspart
  21. 1. Biden caused the inflation. Biden could have stopped the inflation. But he chose not to stop the vast amounts of money to keep on being spent. Stimulus 2, Green new deal etc. 2. Inflation is not a cash grab by anyone but the government. Inflation is the economic response to too much money in the supply which makes everything more expensive. Everything. It makes producing something more expensive, it makes packaging something more expensive, it makes transporting something more expensive. Federal price controls without accounting for inflation is certain to put businesses out of business. 3. See item 2 above. mspart
  22. Where I work, we have a company 401K where you can invest in various generic funds, retirement funds which are more or less conservative the close you get to the retirement date. For instance, Retirement 2025 is more conservative than Retirement 2030 and so on. There are S&P funds, Russell 500 funds, small companies, large companies, international funds. We even have a stable fund which is like a savings account with about 2% interest per year. We can move funds around but have to pay a penalty (1.5%) if we do more than one move in a 15 calendar day time span. It has done well for me. I am above the average of the original post thankfully. mspart
  23. But remember it is all ok. Hamas is not a government of a country and can do what they want. Israel is and must abide by Geneva Conventions. Granted this is a paraphrase from UB but essentially his position. mspart
