  1. The score is deceiving as NU defaulted at 149 and backup lost by fall at 285.
  2. So does anyone attend the Illinois matches?
  3. Pinto is a beast. Some seriously nice throws.
  4. Fun duel Cronin leads off with a decision Lamont wins a close one over Burwikk Hardy with the decision Morton wins at 149. Big swing with the injury yesterday Robb with a major decision Hamiti with a tech fall, was 4-1 at the end of 2 and went to 17-2 in the last period Labriola with a major Pinto was tossing Dow like a rag doll for a major Allred upsets Amos Final match Hilger over Davidson Final score 24-11 Amazing that Wiscy tied Iowa. Even if Gomez was healthy still a good NU win.
  5. I'm thinking both 184 and 197 can go NU. Assad hasn't been as dominant as expected. Warner keeps things very close and can be beaten as well. I could envision all but HWY being close. Though I could easily get into bonus at 125 and 149. This'll be a good test to see if Cronin has truly closed the gap.
  6. Sounds like he was the perfect replacement for Taylor Venz.
  7. I shouldn't have dissed Morton. He wins 5-3
  8. Yeah. Cronin won at 125, 133 went in OT to MN and now Hardy got a major at 141. Should be tied soon with 149 up.
  9. On the day I bought tickets for Tulsa
  10. I agree but in a head to head (I think last year) Boo beat Serrano.
  11. I thought both started at NU 2020 which didn't count. Last year Serrano started at 133 for NU and Haas redshirted. Serrano was redshirting this year. Next year both would be redshirt SO.
  12. Was wondering if anyone knows about open tournaments and wrestling unattached. Does the team pay for anything (travel, registration etc) or is it all paid by the student? I follow Nebraska and notice a lot of the same wrestlers and don't see others. Not certain if guys are hurt or what. Are things different for backups not redshirting? I assume the team can (not necessarily will) pay for them.
  13. Not certain I understand the 174 rankings. Does Vegas not count?
  14. As I understand, the May 1st date was for a 1st school transfer providing immediate eligibility WITHOUT a release from your previous school. After May 1, an athlete needs a release or an appeal to be approved from the NCAA to avoid a redshirt. I'm guessing, but have no proof that W never gave him a release. People mentioned scholarships. I don't know how those enter into things but IIRC, an athlete not on scholarship doesn't need a release. Since teams get 9.9 scholarships, effectively one per weight I'd assume W had to give Lamont a full ride to get him to sign, unless they get NIL money instead. Kyle could not have had much scholarship $ assigned to him for the upcoming season.
  15. My bad. I could swear DS was in the tourney but hurt and didn't place.
  16. 2009 157, Burroughs (returning AA but 1st time finalist) Poeta. Returning finalist. Going for 3rd, former champs Leen and Gillespie. DNP former 149 champ Schlatter.
  17. I read an article saying Comendetti (I'm certain I mangled that spelling) won the wrestle off. Didn't say who he beat.
  18. Something I read on cornnation. From what I understand there was no wrestle off at 165. So I assume Wilson is hurt. I was really surprised that Van Tussell got the call at 184, I had Pinto number 1 then Haas and VT.
  19. Per Manning he had some injuries that are reportedly behind him. I expect that by Vegas Manning will know if Lovett will keep that redshirt on.
  20. I've read that Manning thinks very highly of D2 transfer Dane Morton, who's a SR. Might be a chance to see if he can cut it in the B1G.
  21. Posted on cornnation? Just read that one.
