I saw that Iowa cut offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz's salary by $50k today. That has Spencer Lee's finger prints all over it.

I think those were mostly PSU fans, and I am not sure they believed he would as much as hoped he would/wanted to troll Iowa fans. The general tenor on HR was that it would be foolish for Lee to bump up, but if RBY wanted a shot at the king he should drop to 125. Just a bunch of fans trying to take shots at each other by attributing things to their favorite wrestlers that had no basis in reality.

This is absolutely a thing on Hawkeye Report. A number of posters there are certain he will be the next head coach of Iowa after he completes his international career. And at least one has speculated that he could be the next AD, perhaps extrapolating from a comment Spencer Lee made in an interview that he had been to events for every team save crew. The team score is 4-0 PSU. So clearly the 2022 PSU / Iowa match. After the 2021 match, he had that shoe ready for action. This was not spontaneous.

I think the criteria matches with the finalist list that goes to the voters, but, yeah when it gets to the voters it is anyone's guess.

To be honest, when I evaluated the list I stopped somewhere around number 5. Labriola is number 14 on the wrestlestat list. The only 197 they have in their top 30 is Tanner Sloan in spite of the fact that they only have him ranked #5 at 197. They use four factors to create their list: 1.) wrestler rating, 2.) dual strength, 3.) opponent strength, 4.) win percentage. That does not match up well with the actual Hodge criteria.

Not much to argue with here, seems about right.

I believe it was RBY DeSanto in last year's dual at Iowa. And I do not think he was taunting PSU. I believe he was doing it toward the ref because RBY was defending DeSanto's shots by going over the top and grabbing the toes. High comedy, either way.
