  1. Like any sport, superstar calls are a thing. Iowa benefits, too.
  2. I agree. I'm fine with this outcome, since it encourages action.
  3. Meant to come back to this, because people were critiquing Arnold for only winning 8-6 against Liegel. 1. He's a true freshman 2. He's wrestling up a weight. 3. It's his second ranked win at 184 despite, again, not being a 184 lber. 4. It was only close because he was trying to get to a major.
  4. Ironic that PSU had mirror issues that Iowa did (a possible duck, and a guy using injury to avoid a TD) with much.lwss furor. As to the match, best guy on Penn State right now might be Haines. I've been thinking he's too big and that might catch up to him at NCAAs, but the way he's pouring it on late against good opponents....awesome, separating himself from the field. 125: Davis may be hitting a bit of a wall, or maybe he's just hitting tougher competition. Smith finished strong. 133: Van Dee got baited into a match strategy he should never have approached. 141: Bartlett looked good other than the injury situation. I don't love watching him wrestle, but he's damn good. 149: Lovett's lack of neutral offense almost bit him again. Dug deep though. 157: see above, Haines the man. Robb was dodging bullets, but they started hitting late. 165: Mesenbrink ok? 174: Starocci dominated 184: Truax's only TD was a counter, otherwise Pinto got his own TDs and stoned Truax effectively and impressively. 197: Brooks just on a different level, plus some regression from Alred. 285: Yeesh. Kerk the man to beat until proven otherwise.
  5. Great match, hopefully Caliendo learned something about dealing with Hamiti's unusual length. Hamiti is a ton of fun to watch, pretty unique.
  6. Man Hamiti is annoying to wrestle, lol.
  7. Sure. I would have awarded it. He was still losing.
  8. You could say this about the majority of college wrestling, even Penn State, unfortunately.
  9. He scored zero takedowns before or after this incident. You're acting like the match was over after this.
  10. Yeah, I would have been furious too. I think they should have awarded the TD, but the announcers said Rathjen told the ref he was hurt earlier. All that said, Zargo was the outscored the rest of the match.
  11. Lol. Even if they award Zargo the TD, he would still have been losing the match, and he never scored a TD again.
  12. There's only one person currently crying.
  13. He overwhelmed an outmatched guy, but the motion and technique just look off to me. Been that way for several weeks now, looks different than even he looked earlier this year. Concerned this is just who he is now for whatever reason, presumably injury but no way to know.
  14. Or he's sick. That is a reasonable explanation. I know we're supposed to always believe the worst, but it's not the only expectation.
  15. Lol. Classic weestling injury to full recovery. Very Russian.
  16. For example, no reason for Rathjen to be wrestling this match if Iowa was ducking.
  17. Meh. The Ayala thing could certainly be a duck, but it could be routine maintenance or him being ill. He hasn't missed a match this year, I don't think. The Arnold thing, though, is hard to forumlate a defense for. Woods still doesn't look right, it may just be his new normal.
  18. The dual lineup from Iowa has Ayala out for Joey Cruz and Gabe Arnold in. Lame for Arnold to be in now.
  19. I feel like Rothfuss is worse for some reason. I just expect this from George at this point.
  20. It's good, but dense. The books are huge.
  21. Sanderson has created a whole shared universe, but it's not solely out of Mistborn. Basically it's a multiverse situation called the Cosmere. You could read the Mistborn books as standalone, there 7 of them (and one or two novellas). They're isn't a whole lot of crossover....yet. but there will be, per Sanderson.
  22. I thought it was pretty clear he was talking about coaching in college, since he said he's always wanted to just coach, but he's not quite there yet. I suppose it could be interpreted as "AWA is not QUITE there in terms of sustaining his livelihood without anything else"
  23. I finally finished up the 3 hours! It was great to see Willie and CP talking. The chemistry remained (though the video lag messed with it a little). Given Ben's announcement, I'd again put my hat in the ring for new cohost. I'd bring the similar energy to Willie and Ben, though taller, fatter, and less credible. Funnier though.
