Remarkably China only had 5,272 deaths. That might be a little bit off. I was wondering if we could send a bill to President Xi Jinping for 14 trillion dollars. Thats just for starters.

Weeeiiirrrddd    Just as there is TDS, this country went through CDS...heck some still have it.  One of the biggest shams in the US since I can remember.  I loved "debating" the CDS folks about why the US counted Covid deaths differently than any other virus/disease, and no one could ever answer it.

I know hospitals financially benefitted from a patient if they listed, that it was Covid whether it was Covid or not. Whether they were treating them or they passed away from another illness..

Yeah, my neighbor's aunt passed away from cancer and they tried to put Covid as one of the causes on the medical file and certificate...they fought it really hard as she was already receiving her last rights and the family was notified that she was going to pass any day.  And when she passed she had no symptoms of Covid, but they tested her anyway and it was positive.  Absolutely ridiculous!

I dont think we won't know the total cost for quite some time, might take 5 decades or more.  What is going to be the impact on productivity, earnings etc. on all these kids K thru college who weren't allowed to be in a proper learning environment and all those who now prefer work from home, remote etc.  We really don't know.

Is there a difference from working from an office compared to working from home?

The only people that i have seen advocate for return to the office for work are owners of the office buildings. As long as someone gets the work done what’s the difference where the work is done

Haven't heard it from any office building owners but have from business owners, managers and employees.

Yeah, we worked from home and then were told to work in office 4 days a week.   We get to work from home 1 day a week.   I resisted at first with the same comments braves is making.   I have been out for 2 months working from home for the last 3 weeks.  I can't go into the office so it is good to have this opportunity.   But I am ready to go back in, I just need someone to take me as I can't drive anymore for awhile.   I like working in the office.   More and better connections with coworkers.   But being at home once a week is nice too.

Sorry to hear about the driving.

I am of a like mind. I enjoyed going into the office. My employer, at the time was one of the last to close and first to open. I was able to work from home, but chose to go to the office four days a week. But now we have a new owner with no office near by. So I work from home every day. While there is an upside to the lack of commute, I miss the socialization.

There is always give and take for anything.   Lack of commute is a definite plus.   Save a lot of money.   On the other hand, the socialization aspect should not be ignored.   It just isn't the same with IM, or email, or text, or zoom.

Have worked remote a lot the last couple years, there are definitely plusses and minuses.  if, IF, you are dependable, the flexibility is nice and can even lend to being more efficient/productive.  But there are cons as well.  There's a difference between meeting in person and meeting on video.  There's a difference in collaborating in person rather than through video.   And even for many administrative folk there are parts of the job that don't deal behind the desk.  End of the day I feel like a reliable person should be able to do their thing on their best time, and be where and when they need to be somewhere.
