John Smith could take Bruce Lee - MMA or other

Recommended Posts

Any competition that allowed mat time and not just punching would find John Smith beating the famous Bruce Lee. About the same weight John would take him down and punish him.

Dan Gable would do it also - with more emphasis on punisment as his grinding style was built on it.

I am glad to see pickleball ahead of football.

Obviously. Strikers nearly always lose to grapplers, especially "fighters" who never actually competed (Bruce Lee).

BJJ and wrestling are nearly the same thing. I was astonished at how easily I took to BJJ. Plus jujitsuka are terrible compared to wrestlers when taking people down.

BJJ>Wrestling is not a given.  BJJ doesn't work nearly as well when you're on cement, when the other guy can headbutt you from your guard, when you can get kicked and kneed while you're on the ground, and a number of other things.  The BJJ practiced in competition has less direct application to a real fight than wrestling does, because the advantage of being on top in a real fight is much bigger than the advantage of being on top in a grappling competition.  BJJ also loses some effectiveness if you don't walk around in real life wearing a Gi.

But Steven Seagal would likely mop the floor with John Smith. I've seen him absolutely wreck martial arts legends with little to no effort.

You have me imagining john smith in all of clint eastwood's best cowboy roles...and I gotta say, it's not a bad look

Isn't Smith about a foot shorter than Clint? Hold on, I think I have a picture of them together.
