Real talk?  Carroll was pinned there.  Ref was in a bad (or good for CC) spot.

I’m always a bit surprised when some continue as active wrestlers when all signs suggest you have reached your peak and are now on the descent …. And your peak wasn’t all that close to the top.

He's going to make an excellent rep for the Olympics. Going to give Sadulaev all he can eat!

Is this an Eiermen post? Or Ashnault? Or who.....  they all know they aren't going to the Olympics, but guess they still got a little fire in their bellies

I’m seeing all consi after this match.

I was repeating what Pyle said.

Now he just said the same and then it was cut off before he could finish...

No worries, extra time for you to get a few beers in ya, before Bo and JF shock the world... kinda

Will be fun if they make it to the trials to see if they can pull an upset or 2. By 2028 they'll be looking like contenders

Bartlett and McKenna didn't even beat him that badly at the Open last year...

There's only 1 way a hs sophomore beats up a man like that, strength. And no kid that age that hasn't caught up to his growth spirt is that strong. Ash is no scrub but a man should have the overwhelming strength advantage to stop a kid who's quicker .

At 25 I would mop the floor w any 16 yr old- unless he was chemically stronger.

I’m not going to pretend to know the supplements basset takes, but better technique feels like strength in grappling

What strategy to use in the consolation bracket of a tournament like this? You'd like to win, but don't necessarily want to wrestle. If you change into your street clothes right away, the other guy puts his singlet on and gets his hand raised.

So, you change into the appropriate singlet and warm up vigorously near your opponent and grunt and growl a lot. He starts doing the same, and it becomes a game of chicken. When I wrestled for Team Surrender in the 1980s, we perfected these techniques. My favorite was looking at my opponent with mouth open and crossed-eyes from across the warmup area.

On another subject, the young kids are all right. Just amazed at some of their wins. This is a tournament full of part-timers, so maybe we'll get a true evaluation at the OTTs. Still, this was for a shot at an Olympic team for the younglings and the oldsters making it pretty spectacular.
