Bono NEEDS to go

Recommended Posts

Ben:  Hire my brother and you will basically get me, too.

UW:  How about you or nothing?

Ben: ...

UW:  * BONO GETS AN EXTENSION *

Don’t get too excited about this. This is protocol for UW.

They extended all of their winter coaches by one year, happens each and every year.

Nothing out of the ordinary here, only wrestling promotes this like Bono earned it.
He probably stood over the social intern and made him put together the graphic and post it.

Yeah, it's standard. But just maybe this one time they could have said, "4 years of security is good enough for you."

Apparently, their WBB program is even worse. I know the MBB team, which was ranked 6th, just lost 4-5 significant transfers and their HC is in no trouble.

I suspect they're not going to be spending much money buying out non-revenue generating coaches unless or until their Football team starts to really generate more revenue. Especially with all the money going toward their new facilities.

They bought out Davis a year after they gave him the same extension.  These extensions are like clock work. Go back a year they celebrated an extension last year too.

the MBB team was ranked 6th then went on a colossal tank job! First round NCAA exit, Greg Gard has just as much heat from the fan base than Bono.  The HC for MBB is absolutely on thin ice.

I believe this might be a prove it year for Bono. The AD was willing to pull the plug on Paul Cryst he will do the same on Non revenue sports

Yeah...I get that. That's why I said, "it's standard."

The only rationale reason for Gard to be on the same standing as Bono is because they care a whole lot more about MBB.

And if McIntosh was willing to do the same for non-revenue sports as revenue sports, he would have.

Agree. AD seems to not see eye to eye with some posters here. Give the guy some slack.

I am rather stoked for this...

It means Sparty cannot be the bottom of the barrel.  Their floor is higher now.

I know some people obviously see the sarcasm with some posters here, but man it's extremely telling when only fans from other Big Ten schools are happy with this news.

Nonsense 😉

Funny how Hockey coach Granato was fired for having poor results and not being a championship caliber team....Chryst was fired after starting 2-3... So I guess...well, I don't know what I guess.

Wisconsin best returning wrestler Amos hurt his shoulder and defaulted out of trials so it has to be pretty serious, he just took an Olympic this year and was among the favorites at the weight so for him to not continue you have to assume the worst . Other then Amos who does Wisconsin have this year ? Maylor and Zargo ? It might get ugly this year for them

Hasn't it been ugly the past few years?

Maylor was a senior. Amos also had shoulder issues 2 years ago at NCAAs and injury defaulted out of that tournament. Zargo and Amos are the only returning qualifiers. No elite recruits. No depth. It will be an ugly year for the Badgers and the used car salesman they have as a head coach.

Braxton has never AA'd and if he goes to heavyweight as rumored, I think he'll have a tougher go than at 197.  Also, Braxton might be a fifth year guy and there is talk he might also transfer.  Without a massive haul of quality transfers, UW will be lucky to score 5 points at NCAAs next year as Zargo is only returning qualifier and he contributed just 1.5 points.

5 points?! DANG THAT IS SAD

What do you mean bye patients? The guy has had the job six full seasons now and every offseason he loses our best wrestler? How can you as a fan sit there and keep defending a coach like this. He doesn’t show and progress with our program he’s literally Barry Davis 2.0

I think Barry Davis was better! 😂

Answer: He's a turdbiscuit.

Patients is a plural noun meaning individuals receiving medical attention. Patience is a noun meaning the ability to be patient.

I could see how it could be used either way, I just don't think you intended it in the form you said it in.

Thanks Doc, I’ve made a note of this.

You're about a month late to the show... nice try, though.

Sounds like they presented Bono with the contract and a pen without any ink.  Bono attempted to give his signature to no avail, gave the pen a good shake, and then asked if the AD had another pen.  "What's a matter, Chris?  Having trouble signing it!?" as he slaps his colleagues on the back, rips the contract in half, and personally escorts Bono out of the building via fireman's carry

If the donors and alumni are happy, the admin is happy. W & Ls are secondary. How has fundraising been lately? Do they have a good NIL situation?

Not all that great it seems at least compared to most of the other B10 teams

I'm wondering what all is considered revenue for the RTC. Is the money they raise i.e. are donated considered revenue?
