Stanford was just desperate after the other Pac schools jumped ship and accepted a terrible offer, and now the non-revenue sports will have to live with the consequences. IIRC UW and UO are getting $30mil/year for the next 6 years from the B1G's media deal. Stanford and Cal's distribution will be around $7-10mil/year for the next 7 years from the ACC. Unknown, because there was no media deal inked when they left. The current offer on the table was around $25mil per year per school but the Pac schools (except USC and UCLA who already bolted) thought they could do better.
